Need advice for rear shocks

Hi Folks,

I know there are plenty of threads out there with bits and pieces of info regarding this question that I have.. but the info contradicts itself .. so new thread.

I have an 08 sport I4 awd no 3rd row seat, 50K miles, and all OEM suspension parts.

The rear left shock absorber is oiled down to the bottom (will post pic soon). When i pass over speed bumps in parking lots, it definitely sounds very different from the other three, so i figure its time to replace.

Please, any recommendations for brand name and model to replace these rear shock absorber is great. Currently, looking at monroe 37289 sensa, garbiel ultra G64026, KYB 349024... thanks.

If you ask me I would tell you not to go with monroes, I had them on my 06 and they lasted less than a year! If you want cheap go OEM they are like $35 and they last long time plus they have a special "shield" that faces to the road and protects from rock or other stuff, most aftermarkets dont have that.

So OEM is favored amongst the two of you. But isnt the OEM shock absorber proned to early leaking? I read so many post on R4W about issues with the OEM shock absorbers leaking during the warranty period and fortunately the dealer replacing it (however in most cases only 1 was replaced). Also, if the rears are replaced would this most likely call for a rear alignment to be performed or at least checked?
