I said before this thread was retarded and will say it again. It's mind boggling how people can't understand that short trips in cold weather WILL ALWAYS result in poor fuel efficiency and expecting to get EPA numbers in such conditions is just pure madness. EPA numbers are generated in a lab under favorable driving assumptions.

As for RAV4 giving poor MPG compared to other cars, how come I'm getting EXACTLY the same MPG in V6 RAV4 AWD with 268HP as my previous Subaru with it's 4 cylinders and 160HP (IIRC)?

Finally, if one really wants fuel efficiency, hybrid cars are readily available. My commuter car is Prius and I beat EPA and get 50 winter/60 summer MPG in pure city driving.

I never stated that I want to get the EPA. I'm was hoping at least 65-70% of it and no 55% of the stated EPA. Getting 12mpg when it says 19mpg is a BIG difference. Don't care what condition it is. That's almost half of what they state.

We have a major math disability here.

12/19 is 63% and not 55%

Half of 19 is 9.5.

As you have a mayor disability in understanding or reading since no one has ever said that they wanted or is asking for the stated MPG
That being said I did a quick calculation and am sorry I'm off by 8%. And regardless I would think that 55% or 63% of the estimated mpg is redicoulos and anyone who thinks not is too.
