I totally agree with you MIKEINNJ. You would think every car on the road is junk if you read too deep into problems on the internet. But some models really do have major issues that will occur at one point or another. Just like you CC. I like joining forums for the vehicle I buy because you can learn a lot about your car from them. I don't come here to complain about the problems they have. I like to learn more about them.

The one REAL issue, and it's not performance impacting, just an annoying noise would be the transmission whine with the V6. Solved with a TSB but still a nuisance. Other than that, most (ALL) of the issues I have had with the Rav4 have been with the dealer service department. I've had the car for 10,000 miles/8 months and it's been great overall. Once I got through all my headaches with the transmission TSB and my awful dealer, it's been just oil changes and daily, reliable, no non-sense operation.

I have 2010 v6 with 50k miles on it.
To me, Toyota should find out what supplier's water pumps are failing
before 100k and should recall to replace them. water pump failure
in the middle of traffic could be safety hazard.
As we know, no many failures with 4 cylinder's water pumps. Its mostly
v6's.
My car has all the problems that this forum mentions.
Popping noise on steering wheel, each time it gets worse, I put some drop
of regular oil around middle shaft and it goes away for few months and when
the oil dries up the sound returns then I put some more oil and noise dissapears for
another few month, so a bit annoying but easy solution.
And that whinning tranny. Btw, mine is in the shop right now to get it fixed.
Hope they fix it correctly.
Besides these issues, car has been rock solid.
Just wish they can recall the water pump. I can hear the water pump sound
coarse although no leak so far. Soon my 60k warranty will be over and... I don't want to think about it.lol.
