Funny thing is, when the car first came out I didn't like the design but having looked at Subaru 4x4 cars I decided ground clearance and 4x4 was better so I bought one. Auto was vital as I'm tall and the constant clutch pressing was doing me no good.
I see a couple of convertibles here but as you say, rare. The rag-top looks very flaky now after 12+ years of sun weakening the material.

Must go check Google images now to see what you found! That picture of mine is an original, not stock.

    Regards,

    Paul

No, my daughter owns a piano, but I've never looked inside. I kept looking at your avatar and thinking I should know what that is--then I noticed the strings and did a Google image search....

I'm driving my first RAV4 and after more than 3 years, it's still a pleasure to drive. It's also the first SUV I've ever owned and even though the wife wanted me to buy a Tacoma (Hilux) I think I made the right choice. In my opinion, the 2001-2005 3 door RAV's are the best looking. They never sold them here, although they did sell the 4.1 3 doors. My favorite in that generation would be the 3 door with the drop top--very rare.

LOL! Yes I am! Nice deduction - one of my many abstract 'inside piano' pics. I take it you are familiar with the insides of the instrument too?

Been doing this job 32 years and more than 16 years in various RAV4s too, this one being #7 cos I love the cars.
I only gave up when Toyota stopped making 3 door cars citing higher sales of 5 doors which makes me ask, 'How come Suzuki keep making 3 door Vitaras then?' I'd always bought from new and traded up after 3 then 2 years but decided I needed that ability to drive in any condition which RAVs afford and after last winter I had to get another. This one has done 218000 miles (yr 2000) and runs really well. (I would be tempted by a newer one as I like the body shape of the 4.2 and 4.3, I can get a sunroof up to 2005 which would be as late as I'd buy now)

    Best wishes,

    Paul

Paul, it took me a while, but I finally figured out your avatar! Are you a piano tuner by any chance?
