Thanks guys. I did do the battery test at Can Tire (free) and battery is ok so I will get a new alternator and belt tomorrow. Fingers crossed it's simply the alternator.

I bought a new battery...

After getting tires installed and driving away I do remember the wheel seemed easier to turn, more nimble, if that makes sense.

I have a 2003 with alloy rims also. I went with the 215/70/16 and the speedometer is just fine. The price of the 215 tires always seems to be lower then the 235's as well.

I had an 87 mustang 4 cyl that the muffler fell off of. With the exception of setting off all the car alarms in underground parkades there was no benefit.

After replacing my ECU it took some time for it to relearn and had some late shifts and a few clunks. Hopefully that is the case for you as well.

However I do not have a security system.
