Changed mine last year and yes it fixed it 100%. I was doubtful as I had driven quite a bit with slipping gears and clunking but things are still fine and dandy.

I don't find it comfy for sleeping like that. Perhaps if I slept on my back but always end up on my side. I do find it ideal to watch a movie or read a book while waiting for the wife to shop etc....

I have one of my windshield washer jets aimed up so if someone is tailgating me they get a free car wash. I will flash my brake lights etc first before hosing them down.

First one popped off with no effort.
Second one required tapping all around with rubber mallet for a minute.
All that is "securing" it is some rust like you said.

You sure the ECM was replaced or just reprogrammed? Perhaps it has failed again. Since people on here are posting they can get it the ECM fixed for $100 it might be worth a shot before messing with...

I like this. It is a pita to remove snow with the rack on. I might do this permanently as I have not used the roof rack since ditching my cargo box and could probably get a minor increase in MPG.

It is as good as new again and has been months.
