Rav4 off-road inspiration

Hi all,

Im new here, so please be patient.

I have a 2013 Rav4, and I'd like to mod it so it looks more like an off-road vehicle and more unique (ie. more like the 2-door Wranglers). The problem is that I've searched the internet and haven't seen anything that really stands out. I've seen pics with slightly larger tires, but it isn't really noticeable. I don't want to change any cosmetics (ie. paint, accessories, etc); I want the body to looks as it does now but with an off-road feel.

My biggest concern is that it remains as reliable with the alterations.

Does anyone have any inspiring pictures of their bad-ass 4th gen Rav4? I just don't want it to look like all other rav4s.

Thanks.

Here's my 2014 LE AWD

1.5'' lift, Northwoods Performance coils all around with 245/65/17 Firestone Destination AT and 1'' wheel spacers. Also added a skidplate in front, full size spare in the trunk, tow hooks, etc... You can't lift much more than that on these cars. Reliability is fine, make sure to check your suspension regularly and you'll be good.

Northwoods Performance 1.5 spring lift. KMC wheels and 245/65R17 Falken Wild Peak AT. Just saving some $$$ for the skid plate and exhaust pipe. And I'm still deciding on a set of mud flaps. Also considering getting fender trim and sideskirts bed liner coated for more durability. It's hard to be unique with so little parts available.

What mudflaps are you considering? I am rubbing on the stock ones, wondering if the Rally Armour would be any better.

I'm looking at the Rally Armor flaps, or Husky long john flaps. I've also considered getting big diesel flaps and cutting them down to size. I just want something flexible and big enough to protect the vehicle from damage

Curious how you keep a full size spare in the trunk. Do you just leave the cover off or have you found another way of storing it back there?

Here's mine in my trunk - it's held there with a ratchet strap. I use the space for the OEM spare tire for my ratchet set, toolbox, tow strap and gas can.
