Are you using the eBay rails for looks only? I’m just worried that they won’t hold up if I want to actually use them for my bike.

Has this been confirmed? I am looking at PT278-42131 kit, but getting conflicting info that 13-15 is different than 16-18. I have a 17, and am in the market for some oem rails.

Thanks.

You should really talk to this guy, he has several for sale and he's lowered his price by half:

I bought a set of these. They arrived in perfect condition. I will be selling my old plastic covers if anyone is looking to remove their rails.

My ebay rails look great from far away.
The end caps do not fit as tight and nice as the OEM ones but for the price I can't complain.

Right here?

This is the inside of the rail end.

Stoked to find this thread and remove the horrifically ugly roof rails

Not so stoked that in the process I boogered up the roof

Apparently, only the passenger side rear was removed clean; all the others have small dents.

Any ideas on how I can fix???

If the paint is still good, no cracks etc look for a paintless dent repair facility. Just guessing but they may have to drop part of your headliner to get to the underside of the dents. Had this done on a Camry front fender and when the guy was done could not even see where the dent was. It's much cheaper than having a body shop repair. I don't think this is a DYI repair. Good luck.

Yeah I think you're right RE: not a DIY repair. PDR gave me a quote that I wasn't particularly happy about. Plan B is to reinstall the rails <ugh>.

Has anyone out there painted the rails black? IMO, black would look better than silver on this particular body color.
