I've gave 2015 RAV4 to my daughter and bought 2017 RAV4 Limited. The only thing I've done to my 2017 RAV4 was adding glove box light. The 3rd gen aftermarket power liftgate installation is easier.

Cz Gu, do you have a link to the 3rd generation lift gate you are talking about?

I want to install the power lift gate and BSM to my 2017 LE. Any recommendations?

Garage
Here's a little info on installing the lift gate yourself. A little too involved for me to do.

Bought my RAV4 LE in August 2015. It's running well.

I think that video shows the 1st gen power liftgate installation. Currently the 3rd, 4th gen installation kits are plugin and play, no wiring required.

Cz Gu,

I sent you an email a few days ago but didn't receive a response.

Guys, realize this is an old thread (sorry) but I have a couple of questions. We have a 2015 LE and I have looked at adding a power lift gate. The first kit I found requires spicing amd cutting a boat load wires. Not gonna happen.
Then I found this: Mito PLGRAV4 Power Liftgate Kit for 2015+ Toyota Rav4 w/ Soft Close.
It says "Plug & Play" so I would guess NO wire cutting. My questions are:
1. Is this a true Plug & Play setup?
2. Has anyone installed this?
3. Any install issues?
4. Quality of the product?
5. Did you purchase off of Ebay?
Sorry for all the questions. As far as installation goes, I think I can handle it. I have does a couple of interior upgrades on a couple of cars but I like to research the crap out of something before I start. I hate surprises.
Thanks for your help.

Aftermarket power lift gate kits are all plug and play (no wiring required). I installed the 1st gen and the 2nd gen kits to 2015 RAV4 LE. The 1st gen kit required wire cutting. But you can't find the 1st gen kit anymore. There are a lot of manufactures making aftermarket power lift gates. The most important difference is quality of motorized struts, which you can't tell difference when they are new. Price rang are $270-$450 plus shipping (about $60-$70 to US). You can buy aftermarket power lift gate kits online, like eBay or Amazon, or directly from manufacturer. ChangYi makes good quality of aftermarket power lift gates. I don't know Mito PLG. They might be another reseller of ChangYi.
