Unhappy 2015 Rear Bumper Replacement Cost?

Hi all, I'm new here but this foru, looks like a great resource.

I have a 2015 RAV4 XLE (AWD) which has a crack in the rear bumper. It was as a result of a fairly low speed collision, but it cracked quite a bit.

I doubt anything is damaged behind the bumper - but does anyone know how much I'm looking at to repair/replace this?

I'd strongly prefer to get it done at the Toyota dealership, but I need to have some idea of the cost going in.

The forum won't seem to let me post images, here they are with hyperlink removed:

Thank you very much!!

The bumper new from Toyota will cost around $300. I would expect about $200 for parts and installation simply because they are crooks. A new bumper from rock auto is about $80 and may another $100 for a local mechanic to install. I would avoid the dealer on this for sure. You can even get the Toyota part yourself for less than $200 from online Toyota dealers.

This will show you how to remove the bumper cover yourself.

Bought my RAV4 LE in August 2015. It's running well.

I too have a Rav 4 2015 XLE and have a crack in the rear bumper. I am considering to order the cover from the above link. My question is: does the bumper come ready for installation - does it need to be painted even though it's black already? If it does, how much will it cost me to get it painted , because I can install it myself (looks fairly simple to reinstall). Thank you all in advance for your time and consideration.

The rear bumper on a 2015 is textured plastic and is not painted from the factory.

looks like what happened to the bumper skin on my 2015 Rav4 Limited. I was quoted C$400 by dealer for new skin plus extra for installation at a body shop. My fix: warm with a hair dryer to make it easier to line up the crack, use strong glue if needed & then seal it with all weather caulking, the charcoal colour is a good match.
