I have installed my homemade lift kit for the rear of the 4.4 RAV4. It was pretty easy to piece together based on information I found online about other kits for sale.

The spacers I had machined are these:

What I used:

4x spacers, 1'' tall, M14 hole and approx 1.5'' wide
4x grade 8 bolts, M14 x approx 4.25'' long. Fine thread
4x M14 washers, grade 8
4x bigger washers for behind the M14 washers (too small)

Install was fairly simple with hand tools and a floor jack. Remove rear coils, drop subframe, remove stock bolts and reinstall with spacers and new hardware. Here's the final result - front 1.5'' strut spacers (Tema 4x4) and rear homemade 1'' subframe lift:

If anybody has questions feel free to PM me.

Again do this at your own risk, I assume no responsability for anything you do!
That’s awesome!! If the Tema will work for late model 4.4 and previous gen 4.3 RAV4s what do you think the differences are on the ready lift kit that doesn’t make them advertise for 4.3s.
Also just a general update CMRs website has been down for quite a while, I’m not sure if they are in business anymore. I was gonna buy my kit from them, but can’t find a phone number or email. Then I looked into the Tema and found this thread.

Thanks in advance

Thanks!

For the front, the Tema4x4 kit is a strut spacer, works on 4.3 and 4.4 (same strut design). The rear is a spacer that sits on top of the coil spring.

The readylift kit is a strut spacer for the front (similar to Tema) but the rear is a subframe spacer that sits between the subframe cradle and the body of the vehicle. I don’t know if the design of the 4.3 rear suspension is similar so I can’t comment if the subframe can be spaced the same way.

I contacted ready lift today. They agreed to send me a kit so I can test fit / modify on the 4.3. If it works they will expand their offerings to the 2006-2012

I'm waiting for my spring lift kit from Northwoods Performance to arrive. Then I'll be putting together a good initial review for you guys. It looks like a good kit so I'm hoping it will prove itself.

For what it’s worth, the lift works on the older models.
