Roof Top Tent

Hey everyone, I just had a question and I was curious if anyone has done it! I have a 2015 LE with Yakima crossbars and a Yakima SkyRise roof top tent. I was looking into getting a kayak or a paddle board, but the tent takes up all the rack space, has anyone figured out how to safely put a kayak/paddle board up there with the tent?

Was looking at those roof-top tents, but due to my height, needed a three-man tent. The three-man tent is too heavy for the RAV4 rack, so I ended up getting a Yakima Rack-and-Roll trailer. Plenty big enough to carry all the bikes and kayaks you want. I also got a Tepui instead of a Yakima, and put it on the Rack-and-Roll too. The Rack-and-Roll is so lightweight that you'll never know it is behind you.

I wasn’t looking to get a trailer unfortunately, I’m not a big fan of pulling things behind me and I don’t currently have a trailer hitch either haha

For your kayak, can you just lay it upside-down on top of the tent? Might work. Pretty far to heft it up. You'll probably need a ladder. For my kayak, I purchased an extra tow eyelet and run two in the front. That will keep the kayak from yawing. Won't work for you, but for the rear, I tie the stern to a hitch-mounted bicycle rack. That stops the back from yawing. You can just strap the body to the tent with really long tiedowns, or maybe even some marine line.
