Sorry to drag this old thread out but I am now yet again being blocked in the same place as before. This time however even after turning my router off / on several times and so giving me a new IP number it still fails. I have had to go back to the sneaky way so that it is thought that I am somewhere in the U.S.A.

So when you perform a tracert, the last response you get is from 173.192.118.149?

It appears that the addresses from your ISP are being blocked at the RAV4 web server. In our earlier discussion you were able to get around this by switching to another IP (by rebooting your modem), but it now looks like the list of blocked addresses is getting larger.

This is normally done when the user of the IP is posting content that goes against the sites rules. For example, using profanity or posting advertisements when it is not allowed.

In other cases, malware on a persons computer can be used to create a "Denial Of Service" (or DOS) attack on the host computer. When enough of these "BOT" computers make repeated requests of a web site, it can cause the site to be unusable by legitimate users. When this happens the originating IP is blocked by the site administrators.

These blocked IP's are probably not the result of anything you did, but rather by other clients of your ISP. As I said (in the case of malware) the other client may not even be aware he is the cause. As a precaution you may want to run MalwareBytes (free version) to see if you could be the sources of the problem.

Another thing to understand, is that the server which is blocking the IP addresses probably hosts several other web sites, not just RAV4 World. So the site administrator of one of the other web sites may have made the request to have the IP blocked and the RAV4 World admins would not be aware of it.

I'm not sure what the best solution is. Most likely your ISP will not want to follow up on this. Since you are their only client experiencing a problem, they will likely assume it's your problem. I'm not sure if the RAV4 "site" admins can help because I doubt if they have access to reconfigure the routers and firewalls.

This might be a better solution than connecting to a VPN each time you want to access Rav4World.

You can create a shortcut on your desktop which will only use the TOR Browser when connecting to Rav4World. Clicking on any other shortcut or bookmark would continue to use your default browser.

Hi guys, well I downloaded and ran malwarebytes and nothing showed up. I have downloaded Tor Browser hence my being able to log in again. I wonder how long this will last as Hotspot Shield also worked for a while before failing.
