Mud Guard front tire clearance?

Howdy, friends. I am considering installing mud guards, but I also have larger tires on order that will already be cutting it close with front tire clearance. Could somebody post a close-ish pic of the front mud guard, with the steering wheel turned toward the side of the camera? For example, taking a picture of the back of the driver's side wheel well, the pic would need to have the steering wheel turned toward the driver's side. I just want to have a rough idea of how far the guards stick out relative to the front turning arc.

Thanks!

I can get it for you tomorrow. I'm, cough cough, not at home right now.

PS: For what it's worth, the splash guard is pretty much flush with the well. And only sticks out from the body a little bit more than the rocker guards. I think that you would rub somewhere else before you would get into the splash guards.

Ah, thanks!! Yeah by my measurements, at the closest my factory tires were about .7" from the back of the wheel well as the wheel swings rearward when turning, maybe 4" from the outer edge. Between the .45" larger tire radius, .7" greater tire width, and 1/4" lower offset, my new tires will be within about 0.25" from the back of the wheel well at the closest. So, I just wanted to have an idea where the mud guards mounted so I'd have a better idea of where any rubbing might occur .

I'll definitely be using this vehicle off road, but even just after rains there are splatters along my doors from the tires that I'd like to minimize.

Tire size concerns me too. They're stock for now, but the ones I like would be the size of the stock tires on the Adventure. I know the Adventure sits higher, but according to my imprecise calculations the difference appears to be the same as the difference in tire circumference between the XLE 17"and Adventure 19" tires.

So, does anyone know if there is any difference in actual suspension height between models???

The XL tires are 225/65R17, which are 28.5". The higher-trim 19s come with 235/55R19, which are 29.2". That extra ~.35" of radius (height) is likely the source of the small difference in factory ground clearance, rather than suspension differences. I have not seen any indication that the mud guards are different between trims, which leads me to believe that you should not have any issues with near-stock tire sizes with a near-stock wheel offset.

I am putting on 30.1" tires, however, which brings the tread about .5" or more closer to the rear of the wheel well.

Here my Trail with the factory mudguards. Only a little bit of clearance.

Gotcha!

Yeah, by my math the larger tires will protrude up to 0.81" further rearward with the steering wheel turned. So, not sure I'll have much extra room at all!
