Driver's seat memory not working

For the life of me, I cannot get this to work. I've read and re-read the instructions in the owner's manual several times but I can't get it to recall the position that I set.

Any tips?

Mine works fine, ignition on, trans in park, seat adjusted to your desired position, press and hold the set button, press 1 or 2 until you hear the beep, easy peasy. If it doesn't work that way, it's possible something is broke or maybe seat memory isn't enabled which would require dealer intervention to change it with Techstream. There are other details in the manual following the instructions on setting memory that deal with wireless remote fob registering, there can only be one fob in the vehicle when setting seat memory.

FWIW, I use both seat positions with different settings for myself to change on long drives since my wife doesn't drive mine, just hers.

When I do that, the beep is almost instantaneous. How long did you have to hold it down for?

The beep happens right away, not much, if any delay.

Gotcha. Guess I'll have to take it into the dealer to get it checked out. Thanks.

We have the identical problem, the seat memory number buttons do not move the seat. The salesperson was dumbfounded by this when we picked the car up. After 2 weeks, he still has no answer, but did escalate it up the Toyota chain.

Everything else seems fine.

I took it into the local dealership (not where we bought it) and they were stumped as well.

They thought it might be due to interference from an aftermarket alarm that the selling dealership installed but isn't currently activated. They wouldn't remove it without charging me so the selling dealership is sending a technician out tomorrow morning to take it off.

Seems like a long shot but we'll see.

We don't have an aftermarket alarm or any mod so yesss that's a long shot.
We thought about going to a second dealer and have them evaluate but that doesn't seem too promising.
Guessing there will be a Tech Bulletin on this very soon as more reports come in.
The Tech Bulletin should be a good read

FYI, I took it back to the dealership and they were able fix it. All they had to do was program it which they forgot to do before they sold it to us.
