Only complaint I have is the jerky transmission on take off. For example, when you stop at a stop sign and then take off it's like it can't decide on 1st or 2nd gear. That and the drivers side mirror, which feels disorienting, is all the complaints I have as of now. Love the new ride!

My 2019 Limited AWD(Japan) is currently in the shop with the clunking sound from the rear. They were able to diagnose that with a bad transfer case and is waiting for the part right now.

However, i also have an AC high pitched squeal that was determined to be normal when they compared it to another RAV4 they had in the shop. I'm not sure about that since it started recently.
Also have a faint buzzing sound from the engine bay when stepping on the gas. It's easy to replicate if you open the hood and rev the car up. That was also said to be normal due to direct injection.
I feel like these sound issues started happening after the brake assist kicked in when my front end got too close to a wall.

I have the hesitating/lurching transmission issue. And I find the engine noise while accelerating annoying. I contacted Toyota and had the Service Manager at my dealer check it out. I was basically told to wait for Toyota to do something about it.

I also logged the issues at carcomplaints.com, although it will probably be a day or 2 before they post it.

My passenger side mirror squeaking, cracking or what ever you want to call is starting to drive me insane. It used to vibrate only when hitting bumps but now it constantly vibrate and sound like cheap plastic cracking inside the cabin as soon as I hit 70km/h or more. Got in an argument with my local dealer about this where they admit they can replicate the problem but since I am not the only one with this defect, they have to submit a case to the Toyota engineer to find a solution.

Not sure what there is to engineer about a defective mirror housing that crack and squeaks due to vibration. You simply change it imo.

Was basically told they won't do anything about it until the engineers figure how to fix it. and was told it could take months and maybe up to a year. Hoping this goes away with hotter climate or I'll might have to open the housing my-self and fix it.

Not impressed by the whole we can't fix something if Toyota says it's working as intended.

I am in the same exact situation as you. Both side mirrors shake like CRAZY. The service dept. is refusing to do anything and manufacturing will only wait until engineering develops a fix. This is extremely concerning as my vibration is so bad now (it's gradually getting worse and worse) that I can't use them anymore.

I also have the deep clicking/clunking sound in the rear.

I am so incredibly frustrated. Manufacturing is actually advising I file lemon law paperwork and the dealer is trying to rip me off with a trade in for a Camry. I'm like "Fix my damn mirrors!"

I actually deem it a safety concern because it deflects healdlights at night into my line of vision while driving. Also, I just can't use them for lane changing. Anyone and everyone who has this problem needs to create a case with corporate and escalate. This is a pretty cruddy screwup from such a reliable manufacturer (and also the only reason I decided to register and post)

Yep. Toyota needs to fix their damn mirrors.

I hear you buddy, I guess I am lucky in my bad luck with my mirror in a way that I could be worse. I mean it only cracks but does not shake/vibrate in a way that I cannot use them.

I know when good weather hit my area, I will be disassembling the mirror and find a fix my-self if I haven't heard from the dealer.

It just drives me nuts how dealers are tied down by what Toyota says. Coming from Kia/Hyundai, I had a lot of those vibration issue and they would simply replace the part and not even make a sting about it. If the replacement part did the same thing, they would found a way to make it stop.

It just drives me insane how a 30 grand car has issue with cracking plastic.

Agreed. I’m actually dropping it off at the dealer again for another go after I rode along for a like model comparison(again) and the issue isn’t happening in other XLEs. They’re making this way more difficult than it needs to be.

Weird fact, it started cracking the next day that I used my heated mirror. It also crack less when it's hot outside so it's definitely an issue with plastic extension due to temperature. Probably fixable by putting a 2way tape somewhere lol.

I found a temporary fix for my issue though, when I am city driving and I know i'll have a lot of stop and go, I drive with the snow mode on. Issue is 90% gone this way.
Can you provide any further information that I might be able to reference when I get back in touch with Toyota Care down here in the US? I have a hard downshift to first when coming to a complete stop, and also the "coast, go, and jerk" issue at lower speeds. I just had a Toyota Specialist look at it and he declared my vehicle to be fine in spite of the fact that he experienced said issues. TC followed up and told me that Toyota's position is that there is nothing wrong with my vehicle. What a bunch of bull poop. Also had the service manager angrily tell me that my vehicle was "sound" and I needed to end my conversation w/ the Specialist and let him get on with his day. Nice...
