Entune and android Auto

I saw this posted on a Rav4 FB group, according to this member we wont be seeing android auto on the 19 Ravs.

Quote:
"I just called entune to find out if the RAV4 will have Remote Connect (Remote Start) and they said that it won't have it, and the bypass that people are using will not work on 2019 RAV4s. "sad" The other thing I asked about is Andriod Auto and Alexa. Android Auto will not be coming to 2019s but will be on the 2020s and they will not be backward compatible. Supposedly there is no issues with Alexa, but I have deleted and redownloaded the app several times and it just won't work properly. I just can't believe that they will not have the Remote Connect on the 2019 models. That's really silly. There was no explanation as to why."

Iím not holding out hope for Android Auto...would be nice and Iíll happy if it does get it...but I accepted the fact that it would probably not when I made my purchase. Definitely wasnít a huge factor for me, just something that may have been nice to have.

Having said that, Remote Connect certainly is available and does work...so Iím not sure how correct this statement is...?

I have remote start on my 2019 Adventure. But, I actually just remote start it through my FOB. So, that employee needs to be put back through product training. 🤣🤣

Yes, confusing all around.

Are the Canadian model years different? It sounds like it means 2020 when he says 2019.

Also - is Remote Connect not available in Canada? Because we sure have it in the US.

Remote Connect is not available in Canada, been discussed at length in the Mods thread since it's kinda sorta related to remote start only without the hardware.

Remote Connect is not available in Canada, hence James French's post. When I was test driving the RAV4 hybrid, I mentioned about the Remote Connect being not available in Canada and the salesperson said that it might be added in the future. What is the "bypass" about? Is it to allow a Canadian RAV4 to work with Remote Connect?

Entune 3.0 Plus and Premium (for US market) is now through cellular for the 2019 model. The FOB remote connects to the car, then the car Infosystem checks to see if you paid the $80 a year (after trial peroid) to Toyota. If you have, then the car starts for 10 min or ..... until you open the door.
There are aftermarket remote start systems that states a 15 min Plug and Play install that will work through the factory FOB. Yet no aftermarket remote start can make the car run after the door opens.

I have hear "wild things" on Facebook and other Forums coming from "authorized Toyota departments". One post even said "there is no factory hitch for 2019 Rav4 and any installation of one will void the warranty" Obviously the "authorized factory spokesperson" knows nothing about U.S. laws and the 1984 auto warranty act.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnus...s_Warranty_Act

Even big shot Hyundai recently received a warning from the U.S. feds about a posting stating you need an OEM parts for warranty.
