It is without a doubt a most unusual and attractive color. I like it.

Still, it's a programmed transmission with 3 modes to choose from, and I didn't program it. I just pick the mode that suits me best. No complaints so far.

ďSportĒ mode is almost all I use. I find it favors a lower gear to keep the RPMs a bit higher, which gives a bit more throttle response. Some say it also effects the steering, but Iím not sure if I can tell a difference there or not. To me, it just feels more responsive in sport mode, and in turn gives me more control of the driving experience. I also like that it prevents the rear driveline from disconnecting, though that wouldnít be a factor on the XLE.

This of course comes with a slight loss of MPG, but in my experience hasnít been too substantial a difference, especially on the highway where I still seem to average 31-32 mpg...ymmv

I donít notice any jerkiness or transmission lagging either, though this is the first vehicle Iíve owned that is automatic transmission...so I may just be used to more abrupt shifting.

Yesterday I gassed up the Rav4. It was only down 1/3 tank, but I wanted to check the mpg. Almost all the driving was my wife and it's kept in "normal" mode. It's getting 34mpg!

That's better than the 33mpg Toyota estimate and without using the Eco option.

The downside is my motorcycle only beats if by 6mpg.

Congrats on the new ride.

Looks just about like mine. I call it gray, other people see some green. I haven't found a reason to dislike this rig yet.

I don't always use sport mode but it's definitely a totally different ride when it is engaged.

I'm in the same boat. Every car I've owned has had a manual transmission, and slowing down in 2nd gear, followed by continued acceleration from a rolling stop definitely always causes the car to jerk a bit. I feel the Rav4 has a buttery smooth transmission, but maybe we are not the best judges

In my opinion in can legitimately be called grey or green or in between. It's an eye of the beholder thing. To me it's more green-ish. For any other lunar rock owners, look at it tonight under a fairly full moon. When everything else around it is in grayscale, it's got an eerie greenish glow to it.
