Hybrid cost in canada

Right off Toyota Canada site.

Canada Price:

LE AWD : 32 090$
XLE: 35 090$
XLE with XSE package: 38 390$
XLE with XSE Tech : 40 890$
Limited: 42 090:

All price are plus 1815$ Destination and plus taxes.

Compared to the 30 690$ for the gasoline engine LE AWD, seems the hybrid is an 1400$ difference.

Discussion? I know for my-self, the 1400$ up-cost would be worth it for the economy in fuel I would make.

Good news, they're cheaper than the 2018 RAV4 HV models
2018 LE+ HV $34,790
2018 SE HV $38,995
2018 LIMITED HV $42,145

I am going to get the XSE + Tech model
It has JBL audio, Bird view Camera, Digital rearview mirror with Homelink.
Hands-free back door, front and rear parking sonar ...

The limited edition has memory seats, heated rear seat but XSE 2 tone color is my fav.

Likewise! I've pre-ordered exactly that trim (in Silver Sky & Black) and option with AWD.
Good taste and choice!

Here's something interesting which I hope is a mistake - Ground clearance 169mm or 6.65"?!? I thought it was suppose to be the same if not a bit under the the gas versions of 8.4-8.6". 2" lower is significant and disappointing if it's true.

US HV models have 8.1" ground clearance according to Product info, compared to 8.4" for LE and XLE gas models, and 8.6" for XLE Premium, Adventure and Limited gas models.

I would hope that's the case but if you go to toyota.ca https://www.toyota.ca/toyota/en/vehi...specifications

the ground clearance indicates otherwise. Who knows, I've spotted errors on their website before. It's odd even to see that this data is up before toyota.com as the US typically gets everything first.

I think they used the '16-'18 specs erroneously which is close to 7" on the HV.

Looks like I will opt for the XSE Hybrid too for my next car, just waiting for the lease financing rate drop to 1% or 2%. Blueprint with a black roof looks fantastic!

me too, but I like Black / White or Black / Silver.

BTW, I am going to use the Multiple Security Deposit to drop the lease rate.
Toyota support the Multiple Security Deposit, I checked with dealer, per $550 deposit can drop the lease rate 0.15%.
Maximum 10 deposit, $5500 security deposit can reduce the lease price 1.5% totally.

Detail info here:
https://www.mississaugatoyota.com/fi...rity-deposits/

What is it?
Multiple Security Deposits is a payment made in advance to lower the interest rate on a lease therefore lowering your monthly payments. The deposit is fully refundable. Toyota allows guests to make up to 10 security deposits. You will receive your deposit back at the end of your lease terms. In most leasing contracts, the security deposit is equal to one monthís payment.

Multiple security deposits can yield significant savings, especially on higher MSRP vehicles.

Example of a Multiple Security Deposit:

In the case of a 48-Month lease 24,000km on a 2019 Corolla LE Base

Original Rate = 3.49%

Standard Security Deposit = $300 for maximum of 10

Deposits/$ Total = 10 deposits of $300= $3000

Rate Reduction = 1.5%

New Rate =1.99%

Payment with $0 Down = $374.37/Month

Payment with 10 Deposits = $351.50/Month

SAVINGS (over term) = $1,097.76

Security Deposit to be returned at lease end = $3000

I was comparing the specs on Toyota's web site to the brochure. The web site doesn't list the bird's eye view camera as being available on the XSE whereas the brochure says it is included. I'm not sure which is correct.
