XSE Requires Premium Audio/Nav???

My dealer has a Blueprint XSE on hold for me upon expected arrival in early April. He told me that the XSE only comes with the premium audio/Nav package, which I really don't need. I'll literally never use the nav, as I'll likely just use Google or Apple Maps with CarPlay, and I've been perfectly happy with the base audio system in my 2016 Rav.

Does anybody know if this is actually true about the XSE ONLY coming with this package? It shows as optional in the Product Information Guide Toyota put out in November. I'm wondering if my dealer just flat out doesn't know, if maybe the first batch just happens to only come with it or if he's trying to pull a fast one on me...

Thanks in advance for any insight into this!

Garage
I'd trust the product info before a dealer's word.

Yeah, that was my gut feeling. I do listen to a lot of music in the car, so I may compare and contrast the two sound systems then decide if it's worth it. At the end of the day, I specifically asked the salesman to find an XSE for me in Blueprint with nothing but the weather prep package as an add-on, and he didn't listen to me. So I'll use that to haggle him down in price. My lease is month-to-month until September, so I'll be ready to walk if he doesn't work with me on it.

True. Default configuration for the XSE (at least over here).

Ordered a 2019 RAV4 Hybrid AWD (XSE HV Premium) in Zircon Silver / Attitude Black.
For now my Black-and-Blue 2018 C-HR Hybrid Bi-tone Premium will do.

The JBL system does sound fabulous from my experience with it. I was impressed with the sound from multiple sources and the clarity at high volume.

I'm betting on it just being on the first batch of vehicles being sent to dealers. I'm kind of annoyed at how all or nothing the higher trims seem to be with option packages. I'd love to get a Limited with just the weather package but looking at the gas models, I doubt I'll be able to get one.

Thatís one think I like about the adventure trim...itís a higher end trim, but has quite a few optional configurations. Some adventures (like mine) are more similar to an xle premium, but loaded itís much closer to a limited.

Toyota has not updated their website which would allow you to configure your XSE without the Nav/upgraded sound system. However, kbb.com seems to have their configurater up for the XSE and it does appear you could get it without the options you dont want. But of course due to the hybrids just being shipped (and mostly from Japan), the early vehicles are probably coming loaded with options to bump the price and profits to dealers.

The Costco Auto online configurator requires the premium audio with navigation if the technology package is selected.

I've got the same JBL premium system in my '18 C-HR. It's an amazing sound experience, from the deepest bass tot the highest chirp, all spot on, and even on very high volume not distorting.
That's one of the factors to order a XSE premium with tech package (Innovation pack over here), with that the car will even be better equipped than a XLE.
