I just posted this in another thread but Toyota marketing knew what they were doing. Delay the hybrids and also limit inventory when they did come available to cause this buyer-demand issue. I’ve never seen this before in past with a purchase of a new vehicle the inflated price tag due to demand and no inventory. Toyota has to know demand for this Hybrid would be high. In Oregon and I’ve seen in S Cal, dealerships are putting on their price a market adjustment for 1-3K above MSRP....

Anyone have a Toyota dealer in Portland Oregon area they recommend?

Thank you.

Carson, but I have heard it from multiple dealers....and people are paying. Each car I've looked at has sold in a matter of days after I looked at it.

Got a flaming hot deal today. Lots of research was put in, but the overall timing of the deal is what helped me get this deal.
My tips:
Get credit application done prior.
call in to get a test drive.
take your test drive.
put in an offer for 8% off MSRP for the "dealer discount"
walk away if they don't take it. They'll call you back

I always recommend walking away after negotiating, then the dealer comes with their "final offer" either as you're leaving or they will call you trying to get the sale. Sometimes you can hit them back after that and get a further deal but usually they will stand firm at their final offer.

I negotiated by email ahead of time to $30.5K OTD then went in and settled on $30.3K. This was at the end of month in April.

I also separately went for remote engine start ($400) and heated seats ($1000) for dealer install. But after paying for remote engine start, they said the software didn't actually exist, so waiting on a refund for that...

Financed through penfed and their truecar portal, can't really beat 1.5% APR

This is my first car purchase. How'd I do?

I'm in the club!

2019 Rav4 Hybrid Limited, Silver Sky, Black Interior
options: JBL pkg,. cross bars, carpeted mats, mud guards, side moulding, paint protection film (hood)

MSRP: $38,692
sales price: $36,325
discount: $2,367

I didn't want the film nor the side moulding, they subtracted that from the otherwise total. I forgot to tell them I didn't want the mudguards either. Other than that, there was no need to negotiate! But hybrids sell fast, especially at this dealership so I decided I could live with these. Plus, I'm spending my time inside the car not staring at it!

Those of you in in the NorCal region near Chico, check out Chuck Patterson. These folks put standard discounts of circa $1700 on a Hybrid Limited right on their website and will often go a little better. They want to sell volume and are a joy to deal with. Of course they'll include the "service contract" on the first estimate but will tell you it's optional and remove it with a smile. The downside is that the hybrids are only trickling in. This one arrived last night, I drove it out at noon.

Just purchased a 2019 Rav4 Hybrid Limited today. I asked the dealer this morning if the car I was looking at was in stock. Didn't ask about price. He said the car had just arrived this morning (it had because it hadn't been prepped yet) and he was discounting it $3,203 off MSRP. The best discount I had found prior to this was about $1,750 off MSRP.

In addition, I got the $1,250 discount for using Toyota financing. I'll pay the loan off in the next few days.

Year: 2019
Trim: Hybrid Limited
Options: Technology, Weather, Entune 3.0, Adaptive headlights, carpeted mats, mud guards
MSRP: $40,623
Sales Price (excluding tax, title, license): $36,170 (this includes the $1,250 financing rebate)
Doc Fee: $115
Dealer Add-Ons (extended warranty, tint, paint protectant, etc): None

2019 XSE hybrid AWD

Hi there, new to the forum. Just got my rav4 and love it. I paid quite a bit for it but when I asked for a deal the dealer laughed at me as there is about 4,5-month wait for this car in Southern California. There were about 10 other people waiting for it and willing to pay full price. I phoned a couple other dealerships and they told me the same thing. Stoked anyways.

Year: 2019
Trim (LE, XLE, XLE Premium, Adventure, Limited, Hybrid XSE, etc): Hybrid XSE
FWD or AWD: AWD
Options: Etune package, Moonroof, mats, roof rack crossbars, XSE technology package
MSRP: $33,700
Invoice Price (if known): $41,000 OTD
Sales Price (excluding tax, title, license):
Doc Fee:
Dealer Add-Ons (extended warranty, tint, paint protectant, etc):
