Need more light? Better visibility? - Add an LED lightbar (that is my plan anyway).
Isn’t it illegal to drive on the roads with a light bar?
Lit you mean? If it’s not, I wish it was.

Well I'm not a legal authority on the matter. But, As a jeep owner with a decent lighting system installed, I have done a little research. I don't know that the laws have been amended to include lightbars? But I do know that it is perfectly legal to add lighting to your vehicle as long as you follow the DOT guidelines. Basically, since most vehicles only have 2 high beams and 2 low beams, DOT says that you can have a total of 4 high beams and 4 low beams (look at the new Mustangs). Also, I recommended a Euro / Driving Beam (basically a high beam) used in conjunction with the OE high beams. So, under normal circumstances, there shouldn't be an issue for oncoming traffic. Well, unless you need to "Lit" someone up.

I'm certainly glad that everyone doesn't get their wish.

I wanted the adaptive headlights and ended up with the panoramic roof. Do you like the adaptive headlights? Do you think it makes a big difference when driving at night? I like the panoramic roof a lot.

As Mick would say, "you can't always get what you want, but you get what you need."

Only had it 3 days. Not sure the adaptive headlights will do much for me in NYC.

They won't tell you it can be done, but it is all standard parts. I'm sure there is a way.
Please let me know where they will switch the headlights to the adaptive ones and how they will do it. Thanks.

How about - do you want leather seats or mudflaps?

What sort of decision is this?

Anyways, as to pano or any sunroof. In the past 10 years of being FORCED to buy vehicles with sunroof, they are probably open 30 minutes a year. And if I lived in Texas or Arizona - probably less with all that sun.

I want quiet and cool in my RAV.

Umm. . . leather seats! Well, SofTex anyway. Mudflaps, only if I can get Peterbuilt badging to go with it.

Agreed about the moonroof thing. I suspect mine will be open just long enough to see if it works. Adaptive headlights? I'm trying to think of a situation where this would have been any advantage over what's worked well for the last 55 years of my driving life.

So, as far as the original question, a big neither here.

The decision is between 2 high-end features where you cannot get both on the same vehicle. So for someone who might want "everything", there is still one decision to make.

As for the headlights that have worked well for years, those of us who research know that the regular headlights on this model were rated "Marginal" with especially poor lighting in moderate curves to the left and to the right. (Source: IIHS.)

Others of us also know that there's really no standard to keep unbelted occupants from being ejected through the panoramic roof in a crash.

That's why my choice was for adaptive headlights.
