XSE Tech vs Limited

With the never ending wait for XSEs I'm getting a bit impatient.

There's a Limited Hybrid available on a dealer 1 hour away.

I'm just curious what this community thinks. Wait for 3 Months (best case) for XSE or just bite the bullet and get a Limited (CAD $1200ish extra)

What does your SWOT analysis say guys?

I went with the Limited so I'm biased. Did a factory order with very option except Panoramic Moonroof. I plan on keeping this vehicle at least 10 years or more, wanted to have all the bells and whistles.

Yep I wanna keep it long too

I like the ventilated seats, hands free back door and bigger tires in Limited

But I also prefer the two tone color and sports suspension of XSE

Hey, just up my alley! I "ordered" an XSE. This was not a "true order" in the sense of putting money down, more of the dealer will maybe put in a request in hopes that they put one on the truck. In my area the dealer currently gets whatever Toyota sends.

My reasons for the XSE. This is the lowest trim level that is fully spruced-up inside. It has the Softex trim on the doors as well as seats and dash, the 8" screen and some cool lighting. And it's less expensive than the Limited. But I've since changed my mind.

I like that the Limited is a single color. I'm not a fan of the two tone, especially with a heat-sucking black roof. The Limited also has the PKSB/Intelligent Clearance Sonar safety feature. I'm old, safety counts. I've experienced occasions in the past where this would have been very handy, my garage door tells the tale. I'd like the JBL sound system which is only $580 more with the Limited compared to a minimum of twice that with the XSE. I'm not so sure I want the black headliner of the XSE, it seemed very stealth at first but might be gloomy in the long run. I'm not so off-road any more, I'm thinking the regular suspension in the Limited will be just fine. Not that the "sport-tuned" would bother me, just not a big sell. Some folks say the fabric interior of the seats in the XSE will feel better, both temperature wise and by limiting slippage in the seat. I think I'd prefer the ease of cleaning the full Softex instead. There are also some subtlies in exterior appearance where the Limited shows less contrasty elements, a like for me, and seems to look a bit less plasticy. (I've test driven the XSE, haven't seen a Limited in person to verify this.) I don't plan on using any of the upgraded Entune features so I'm neutral on the navigation component. With the Limited, you also get memory seats, a compass, puddle lights and chrome door handles. I'm neutral on that stuff as well, actually would prefer the color-matched door handles but not a deal breaker.

In the US, the XSE has the same tires as the Limited.

XSE and Limited HVs have the same 225/60R18 tires. You can always add an aftermarket hands-free kit(ebay) to the XSE, or put a black wrap on the roof of the Limited and swap the wheels out.

Tire Size
225/65R17 (LE HV and XLE HV)

Imo the limited is the way to go, I had the same dilemma as you because I loved the two tone paint on the XSE, but in the end I valued the birds eye camera, rims, fully softex seats, ventilated seats, rear heated seats and touch free lift gate more than I valued two tone paint.

Also, my rav4 isn’t for track days. The suspension in the limited is plenty tight for how I use it, and I suspect that stiffer would end up being a downside after the first few weeks of ownership.

Thanks for correction...I fear anything aftermarket especially with a new car

The two tone paint would be more compelling if it was available with a silver/blizzard pearl top. Cool in summer with color on the sides.

I'm not a huge fan of the black headliner either, would prefer a grey.

The Limited has the birds eye view monitor. I'm parking challenged. Many times I have pulled into a space, started to get out, realized I was over a line and got back in to straighten it out. Now I never have to do that! It also had the kick motion to open the hatch which certainly is unnecessary but convenient and fum.

The limited also has memory for the driver's seat which is important for us because my wife and I have very different seating positions. Of course, if you are the only driver, it doesn't matter.
