If you shop around, you should be able to get a set of 16" wheels with good tires like Falken Wildpeak A3TWs (great quality without the BFG pricetag) for perhaps $1200 installed. I really shopped around and will have about $900 or so into my set of 4 wheels amd tires, with slightly oversized 30.1" tires. I expect to get $700-900 out of my stock 19s, so the whole swap will cost me a couple hundred bux, at most.

I, too, wanted a more aggressive tread, a taller sidewall for comfort (both on and off road), and the ability to air down a bit for more traction. Below is a representation of the new wheels and tires, compared to the stock 19s.
