New to forum with a 2006 RAV4 V6 AWD

I am a backyard mechanic for our 3 family vehicles in the Toyota family.

We live on a small farm in the Rocky Mountain foothills southwest of Calgary, so AWD or 4WD is a priority for us ... as are winter tires. We ran studded winter tires on our Lexus this year and it was the "go to" vehicle when we had to be on the road when road conditions were poor.

I have been browsing the forum as a guest as we have been having some rear suspension issues on our RAV4 ... so I will continue to search prior posts and possibly start a new one if required.

I look forward to participating on RAV4World

I believe that I have found out the cause of our RAV4 suspension problem but it not something that I have read about on this forum. Once fully resolved, I will start a new thread in the appropriate section with details on the fix. Repair part are on order and are expected in a week. Now that I have 5 posts, I will even post some photos of the offending parts.

Welcome, and finding an '06 RAV4 V6 AWD and hopefully in good condition now is good. The V6 version is an especially good drive. Hopefully the parts which you have ordered will resolve your suspension issue. But rather than starting a new thread it probably would be best and easiest for readers to maintain continuity if you would continue this thread.

Thanks for the welcome. We have owned the 2006 RAV4 since 2007, so are pretty familiar with them. We also owned a 2005 RAV4 which we bought new and drove for about 10 years. I am the family mechanic / father ... our daughters are / were the primary drivers of the RAV4's. It is great to have this forum where owners can exchange ideas and solutions ... I will be sure to update my suspension problem fix once the parts come in and I have proven my fix. Regards, 3CW
