2020 ford escape details--hybrid option too

I see that the new Ford Escape for 2020 is being introduced and it may be another consideration. It won't be out until fall, but it does have a hybrid option, and even a plug in hybrid. Details are still very new, but pictures are finally out.

The Ford Escape reliability record has not been stellar and new Ford products have historically had teething problems. If considering buying an Escape I would wait for at least a year from its introduction so that at least some of the bugs hopefully would be sorted out.

Not in my lifetime, Ford reliability/dependability isn't much better than Jeep which sucks!

Yeah, the only folks I know with Fords that have nice things to say are those with F-series Super Duty models (I'm from a rural area originally). Not saying those are great...(I don't have the knowledge or experience with them to form my own opinion), but those are about the only Fords I'd consider if I was in the market for such a vehicle, as at least the owners seem to like them.

My experience with an old Ford Taurus with a factory defect in the engine head was made worse with the dealer experience. I swore that I would never buy another Ford product. I still lean toward the rav4 but I have yet to drive the hybrid. The local dealer has a few now and I should be able to drive one. I did drive a CX-5 Grand Touring (w/o turbo) the other day. I thought the engine was very sluggish not that my 2013 rav is a lot better.

I have a 13 Fusion and its been fine. Must have been a mid morning Wednesday build.

That being said, interior space utilization by Ford has been atrocious. And Ford has gotten good at gaming the system for EPA MPG numbers. Many struggle to get close to the numbers. Not sure how they are going to survive on their SUV only mantra. Lost me as a buyer unless somehow I win the lottery (guess I need to start playing) and can afford the new GT500. Wife drives the SUV's.
