Looking into a double din stereo, need help!

New member on the forum here, got 2 4.1 race, ('95 & '97)
Looking into putting a double din stereo head unit into the '97, found a part number and diagram, but can't find the part anywhere.

If anyone knows where to get this part can you let me know! Or if there is another way to install a double din unit into the 4.1?

Image attached shows what I'm looking for!

Cheers!
Connor

I modified the existing lower cover to make it into a bezel for my stereo, see Installed double din radio, gauges, 12v power point, usb power point

As far as finding that double din bezel, the problem is it wasn't used in the USA and is now discontinued, if you can still find one get it quick. I found one here, see https://toyota-europe.epc-data.com/r...y/5551/55413D/

Possibly another one here, https://toyotaoriginal.com/genuine-t...-5541342010b0/

It really helps if you go to your profile and add the country where you are from and add a signature block with your RAV4's information. Also photos are limited so opening an album and posting pictures there allow you to link to them anywhere you want without adding to your photo count.

By the way there are pros and cons about mounting the stereo this low so you may want to consider a pop-out screen stereo in the single din spot instead. Personally if I were to do it again I wouldn't go the double din route, I would go with a pop-out in the original single din area.

Pros:
- The stereo is less distracting
- The double din screen gives you a lot of information

Cons:
- The stereo is too low to use easily as a screen for a backup camera
- It is way too low to safely use for a navigation device, because in my opinion you take your eyes off the road too long looking down
- You lose your already limited cup holders
- A more difficult install

I use a HUD nav unit so that keep my eyes on the road

It may be that my sole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

I will tell you what i said in some other post about a different part, if you are keen to pay the shipping from NZ you can get this double din from this website trademe.co.nz. Just type "rav4 wrecking" and will see a few of them.

After doing a search I found this thread along with a few others about the double din trim... I just ordered off of megazip, I'll let you know how it goes. I was going to hack up my lower surround and use a pioneer double din mounting kit but opted for the oem trim instead.
