Exclamation Wheels - Will it fit Gen1 2Dr AWD Rav4?

Hey Guys,

I'd been noticing a lot of sweet wheels going onto Foresters, Crosstreks and Outbacks. Namely the Method MR502 VT-Spec, Motegi MR 139 or the Black Rhino Boxer. All these rims are available as 15" (Method Mr502) or 16" (Motegi MR139 & Boxer).

Now they are all available as 5x114.3 as far as bolt pattern. That part seems all well and good. But I'm wondering if any of these 3 rims will clear the calipers on my 98 Rav4 2dr. I know they will fit on the 11.6" brakes that are on the Subaru's...and the Rav4 has 11.8" (as afar as I could tell). The Offset doesn't seem to be an issue...but I was wondering if ANYBODY was running these wheels or had any insight as to if they could work on our Rav's.

Method: MR502 VT-Spec 15" & 17"

Motegi: MR139 15-17"
https://www.motegiracing.com/product...sh=satin-black

Black Rhino: Boxer 15-18"
https://www.blackrhinowheels.com/tru...rims-boxer.php

Any help would be much appreciated!

Thx
Clinton

Hi Clinton,

You might want to check the Tire Rack website. They list the Motegi MR139 in a 17" for the 2dr model RAV4.
If they don't list a 16", clearance issues may be a possible reason. You can also call them for information and advice.
You could also try contacting the wheel manufacturer for specs and clearance if they can provide it.
It's not worth the cost and hassle to buy wheels that may not fit and have to deal with returning them, etc.

I have had various 16" and 17" wheels with different widths and offsets on my 2dr RAV4.
Finding the right wheels can be fun, but challenging.

Good luck. Let us know how it works out, and post some pics when you get the wheels you are looking for.

Hey DJ,

Yeah I did look on Tirerack, that is how I found these ones. I was just hoping I could get a 16" so I wouldn't have to buy new BFG's and I really don't want a 17" rim on the car. I'm gonna contact Method and Black Rhino and Black Rock personally to see about the ones I like from them as well. I'm really worried about buying a set of anything and not having them fit )))

I'll def post if I can get anything working !

I'm also looking at these Enkei Compe Wheels as well:

16x7 5x114.3 38mm backspace. Tirerack suggests them for my car so I've reached out to them as well as enkei to see if they can double verify fitments!

Okay, so its confirmed from Enkei that these rims will fit the Rav4. Now all I need to do is source them from somewhere in Canada.
