Recommendation for radiator cooling fan ?

One of the fans died.

How do i know ? i'v just skipped all the indirect tests by feeding directly wires from
the battery tם it's motor terminals. and to be sure, i double checked that with my mechanic.

first, i'm not sure what to purchase: just the electric motor or all the fan.
i don't know if it's push or pull fan, and buying fan with both options implies that it not optimized for one kind action.
there is no direct OE replacement fans in Amazon.
i'm considering to buy a Spal, since they use brushless motors. but i don't know which one will fit my car.
this one reasonably priced https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...E7U53NWQ&psc=1

On my 99 model, Toyota calls the 4 blade fan, the Radiator Fan Assembly and the 7 blade fan, the A/C Condenser Fan Assembly.
At least that is how they are listed on Rockauto.com. The links are for a 99 model out of habit, switch to the 98 model if you order.

Rockauto.com also offers just the motor for the Radiator Fan Assembly, they might for the other one but I didn't see it in a fast look.

Which fan are you needing?

The one at the passenger side near the alternator.
i prefer Amazon, it's shipping is flawless so far.
which is a big issue if you live in Israel.
using brush less motor is also advantage.

The nice thing about Rockauto.com is they also list alternate part numbers.
Entering the alt part number in the amazon search box found this: https://www.amazon.com/Dorman-620-53...ype=automotive

But some on here have been very happy with aftermarket fans, I like the ones that drop right in.

I used a similar aftermarket fan and they've worked great down here in south Florida. The following were the parts I used totally rebuilding my cooling system and all are holding up quite well other than the aftermarket thermostats.

- Engine coolant system complete rebuild, completed Nov 2016
-- 1 ea - Spectra Premium CU2292 Complete Radiator - Amazon.com
-- 2 ea - Upgr8 Universal High Performance 12V Slim Electric Cooling Radiator Fan With Fan Mounting Kit (14 Inch, Black) (amazon.com)
-- 1 ea - Motorad ST-36 Safety Lever Radiator Cap (amazon.com)
-- 1 ea - Wells TU179 Engine Coolant Temperature Sender (amazon.com)
-- 1 ea - Toyota 90916-03090 thermostat (amazon.com), I tried other thermostats but I kept having overheating issues. Comparing the Toyota ones to the aftermarket, the Toyota thermostats had a larger valve and opening, obviously allowing more coolant to flow, and it has a "jiggle" valve that the other's did not have. The jiggle valve is supposed to allow some coolant flow even when the thermostat is closed and to allow you to "burp" the coolant system easier.
-- The following thermostats caused overheating, they didn't have the "jiggle valve" and the control valve is a smaller diameter than the Toyota OEM one. The moment I replaced these with the Toyota thermostat listed above all was well. I have been informed that I could have drilled a small hole in the aftermarket thermostats to simulate the jiggle valve.
--- 1 ea - Stant 45758 SuperStat Thermostat - 180 Degrees Fahrenheit (amazon.com) - do not use, caused overheating
--- 1 ea - Motorad 2014-170 High Performance Thermostat (amazon.com) - do not use, caused overheating
-- 1 ea - Gates TCKWP199BH Engine Timing Belt Kit with Water Pump (amazon.com)
-- 1 ea - Gates 19050 Heater Hose (amazon.com)
-- 1 ea - Gates 19051 Heater Hose (amazon.com)
-- 1 ea - Gates 22381 Lower Radiator Hose (amazon.com)
-- 1 ea - Gates 22382 Upper Radiator Hose (amazon.com)
-- 1 ea - Bypass hoses 1, 2, and 3 - local purchased
-- 1 st - DNJ Engine Components FPS907 Set; Freeze Plug, Brass; Freeze Plugs (rockauto.com)

The Wells TU179 ECT must have been discontinued. There are others on Amazon and other sites.

Wells must have discontinued it, try search for the "engine coolant temperature sensor" on amazon.com, rockauto.com or other sites. This one is cheap and has great reviews, https://www.amazon.com/Coolant-Tempe...99+Toyota+RAV4

The photo below is two 14" fans, they are the largest that fit.
