On the Hunt for a 2012 RAV4 V6 4WD

Hello all,

As the title states, I am currently on the prowl for my first ever RAV4, but I'd really like it to be 2012, V6, 4WD, and white. I know, I'm picky.

As long as I want those features, I know that I will have to be less picky about price/mileage. My question is what mileage would be too high for a 2012? I'm looking at one for about $16,500 at 70k miles, but I would have to travel to go get it. The CarFax and service history look good, and the car looks pristine.

I live in the California Bay Area, would fly out to inspect the vehicle, and drive it back down to SF.

Is this a worthwhile automobile? Any tips or recommendations?

Thank you!!

Welcome to the forums Kyle, and best of luck finding your RAV4.
You are in the midst of the same type of search I was eight years ago. After searching for an '06 V6 RAV4 within a 1,000 mile range I found ours in Florida, flew one-way to Orlando and drove it back to CT.

Haha, birds of a feather are we. How is your 2006 holding up these days? Going strong?

Yep, as strong as ever with 140K. No need for me to find a 2012 V6 in the foreseeable future.

You've made a wise choice but the hunt may be difficult and the dealer pricing for a V-6 is substantial. Best of luck in your search.

2008 Base V-6
2008 Limited V-6
Tow Prep Package & front wheel drive (both)

Thank you very much for your input. I've seen your posts around here praising the vehicle, which is part of why I'm so eager to get one of my own!

Is there a number of miles that you would consider "low" or "too many"? I've found a 70k miler for about $16,500, which doesn't seem TOO bad. Thoughts?

Suggest trying Kelley Blue Book to get an idea about condition and pricing. The RAV4 page (hopefully):

There are other sources as well. Good luck!
