Doorlock key problem 2009

My daughters 2009 driver door lock will not lock mechanical by the key. Unlock works fine and lock/unlock work via the the remote but the lock will not work. Was not always this way. I tried some graphite powder with no change. Same for both original keys. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Sure sounds like a problem with the lock cylinder. If it were me, I wouldn't worry about it as I've never used the key on the door. Even if the battery dies on the remote, the key will still unlock it.

It appears the door lock arm connected to the door lock cylinder has disconnected. If you are handy take the door cover off and investigate the door arm connection.

Thanks for the responses. It may be more related to just the master key and maybe tip wear.. i thought she told me both keys but appears now just the original master key which has all the use. Just seems odd if key wear is the issue that it would be limited to allow unlock but not lock on door and still works fine in ignition.

If you tried 2 different keys and both don't work then it is not the key. The door arm could be loose. The door key cylinder is able to open but the door arm is probably required to lock it.

I was wrong. Only one of two keys and the key with most wear. Daughter is 2 hours away so information i get can be suspect at times.
