Best dash cam for your RAV4?

Had a crazy Russian dude who was driving erratically go nuts on me after I called him out. He admitted he was drunk, but was quite the headache/headcase before I got him to apologize.

So was thinking, time to install a dash cam for police or insurance purposes (knock on wood, hope it never comes to either ever again).

Any ideas what works best for a 2012 build?

Hi Firestarter99, dash cams are almost not vehicle specific, so just choose the one you prefer.
If you're not in to the dash cams, find your way in the reviews, there's is one for every buck.
Things like video quality (fps), sensivity in the dark, GPS info, etc. are the most important.

I looked at reviews and specs and there is some installation required for the power source, etc.

I'll figure it out, I'm sure others on here have.

Read through this list: 11 Best Dash Cams on Amazon 2019

Seem to be a lot of good options. Leaning towards the Both 1080FP: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DVJ5DB9

It's $100 and has good reviews.

The Viofo A129 Duo (front and rear camera) is an excellent choice and I just ordered mine last week. If you want just the front camera the Viofo A119 is also a good pick. The Viofo A129/A119 both have one of the best video quality for day and night time. The A129 rear camera is also HD 1080P unlike others that are 720P. It is reliable and use capacitors instead of batteries that can fail in high temperatures.

Right now the A129 Duo is on sale at a very low price ($131.99 USD). There is a coupon code 5090cb for $12.99 USD off the sale price to make it even lower. Total price I paid is $166.54 CAD.

The Crosstour rear camera is 720P which is garbage. This package would be a waste of money. Go with the Viofo A129 Duo instead.

Suggest that any dash cam have HD 1080P as others have suggest but also make certain that when using the recording function that also be HD 1080P. My wife has a dash cam which displays live in HD 1080P but recorded images are 720P, making the recorded images basically useless since licence plate info, etc. is unreadable.

Look up in "https://dashcamtalk.com/". Read the forums. All your questions/answers are there. If not, just ask. Nice, very informative site.
