Hello guys, I have a 2003 Rav and the check engine light is on... went to my mechanic and pulled two codes:

P1150 and P1155

He said it's a dealership item only, something about a sensor or something like that?

Where is this sensor located? How difficult is it to replace? Could I do it myself? What are the potential costs?

Thanks for any help ;)

Googling it reveals its an Oxygen sensor code. Possibly sensor 2 (downstream). Sensor may need to be replaced. Its usually a pretty easy job

Do a little more research and go from there

The P1150 code for a 2003 RAV4 with the 1AZ-FE engine means the A/F sensor in Bank 2 Sensor 1 is bad. This is the top sensor on the passenger side. So if you are standing looking at the front of your engine, it is the one on your left on the top.

I had a similar problem last week and disconnecting the battery for 15 minutes and reconnecting it solved the issue.

You merely cleared the code. The fault will return and the light will come back on, unless it was an EVAP code caused by a fuel cap that was not tightened sufficiently.

The next time the light comes on, read the code and get back to me.
