That's great comparative feedback, iowa530. Thanks for that. I'll certainly keep that in mind as we move forward (albeit ever so slowly) with the consideration for what to get.

Well, just this weekend, we purchased a 2006 4Runner SR5 with the 4.0L V6, 2WD. We looked at 6 vehicles, and this was the last one. Beautifully maintained and in excellent condition with 210K miles. We got a fairly good deal on it at $7,000 even. It only needs a set of tires. I had wanted to not exceed 150K miles, but that was going to push our budget too far, and I know that the 4R we got still has plenty of miles left on it. By being able to get the '06, we got the updated LED taillights, projector low beams, and the 4.0L V6 has a timing chain instead of a belt.

That said, I'll be moving out of the Rav4 forum and into the 4Runner forums. I appreciate the input I've received from all of you, and wish all of you the best.

I am on my second Highlander and it definitely feels bigger than the RAV we just purchased. The RAV has more road noise but is a smooth driving little rig
