Hi, wondering if anyone has an aftermarket solution to cover that empty hole?

Just got the 2018 Rav4 from an 2007 Rav4. I am used to use that part of the car to store other things, but now that it's exposed?

Urgh, click too fast,

I don’t see your red circle but I assume that you’re talking about the empty space to the right of the NAV screen, right? I believe that the exit of the passenger air bag. I would not put anything there because in case of an accident, items in that area could became a projectile.

That guide seems to be for the 4.3 generation.

I Really Really Really don't think the air bag comes out of that area. It's clearly meant as a shelf!

Nothing covers it up that I know of. My wife keeps her sunglasses and a couple of small things there. I actually like it that way.
We referred to it as the wife shelf while car shopping! We also continue to call it that

From the photo, I can not tell the air bag deploys from the top. I don't see any seam line on the top, so I assume the air bag must deploy from the opening.
I will do some research to be sure. Nevertheless, I would not put anything on that shelf, especially sharp objects like the pens or pencils, metal objects, or anything that could become a projectile in case of the collision.
