I saw the LED door sill protector for 2019 RAV 4 from amazon and I thought it would be cool to install it on my XSE. Does anyone have tutorial on how to install it?
They're usually applied like a sticker, just peel off the back in install. The plugs probably go into something near or under your steering wheel to provide power. A link to the actual product would help provide specifics.

Sorry, Can't put any links on the first post.

Let me know when you guys install it. Per the video it says the rear ones have a gap in the middle and are not flush through out. It would seem the lit ones are a smidge longer than the unlit ones.

I first installed them without the wiring harness. Went back and ran the wires a couple of weeks ago. Ran into an issue with the actual wire tap as I didn’t want them on while driving. I originally decided against this option. Would prefer to wire to the map lights in the future. For now, I spliced into the footwell lights as recommended using T-taps. Red wire connects to beige for positive and black to black for ground. These LED door sills are bright as hell at night. Will look into potentially wiring them into Both the welcome map lights and to the dimmer switch later using a relay. But for now some pictures for those of you interested in a how-to or a preview of its performance.

oh and as for the “gap”; yes there is a gap as the rear door sills aren’t molded to the shape of the door frame. I just press down firmly after adding more 3M double sided tape. The factory tape is not enough to proper adhesion.

Did you get around to re wiring these? I want to purchase some, but not electrical savvy, so looking for the easiest way to install these.
TBH the t-tap Wiring is the easiest. 15 minute job. They dim when you start driving but do stay on while ignition is on. Light doesn’t bleed into the cabin. So far I’m fine with the way it operates. It’s nice to see the leds get brighter when I open the door. Nice subtle touch.

modification to meet my preferred operation would require the use of a relay and an on/off switch. Not a difficult job but need to source a few parts and solder some wires.

Nice, this is what I have been looking for! Thanks!
Does anyone know how to get the LED sills in this youtube video working on a model without the footwell lights to tap from? I have a 2020 XLE AWD and apparently it isn't that fancy. I tried a few wires behind the foot quarter trim, but have only had success with a red wire that is always on even when the doors are closed. Anyone know which wire to tap for interior lights here? For my Prius, there were instructions with the factory illuminated sills, but looks like Toyota doesn't offer them for the RAV4.
