I have a non-JBL XLE and am looking to add a subwoofer. As I do not want to compromise cargo space, I've looked into the spare tire sub and some under the seat subs. Is it possible to utilize the area where toyota put their subwoofer or will it be easier to just go with a spare-tire/under seat sub?
Anyone tried to put an aftermarket subwoofer where toyota placed the JBL sub?

Replacing the Premium Audio system
So in another thread we began talking about replacing the audio system in these new RAV4's during a great thread about sound dampening (found here: https://www.rav4world.com/threads/the-sound-deadening-project.297973/ ). Curious if anyone has any experience with the premium system...

I've just replaced the rear doors speakers with a pair of pioneer swallow woofers. Brought a mono amp to drive them. I am getting so much more bass now than the original set. Those are 8 inches speakers. It is pounding now with just a pair of eights. I am sure it is getting way more bass than the JBL system.
