Quick question on fuel pump

Hello to all,
I have a Rav4 Gen2 2.0 and i can recall if the pump made a noise when the key is turned all the way without starting the car (1 position before starting).. it is getting harder to start with first turn (after 4-5 seconds turning it starts) or in rare occasions with the second. It seems the fuel lines do not pressurize correctly..

Also it makes some missfires around 1800 to 2500 rpm with steady gas pedal, on accelerating there is no issue no lose on power.

Made 2 services with filters, oils, plugs etc.. with no change, no errors in the ecu.

The one suspect is the change in gas filter I had one year ago on the pump in the tank, maybe something didn't bolt on correctly.

Thank you in advance and best regards,
Dimos

The RAV4 denso fuel pump doesn't normally make any noises in the Two RAVs I have had. The denso pump is 80. Or so on Amazon and is used in a lot of Toyotas. Always replace the fuel filter sock and put a new gasket on. I pulled both rear seats when I did mine for more room. I'm not sure how you can rest fuel pressure in the pimp or the fuel pressure regulator on the rail. I would always buy an OEM Denso fuel pump tho.

Does the 4.2 have 2 pumps?

Thanks for the answers!
It is as wanman_2 says, no noise on start. I have bought a used "whole piece" as I am afraid they cannot re condition even a pump here in Greece - the problem as it is seems is that the former mechanic changed the filter on my pump with dismantling it but made something wrong on putting all these back together, so I have valve check issue and fuel regulator issue.. I will try as I said with the used one and rebuilt my pump step by step with new parts and manuals myself.. Keep you posted if it is the solution.
Thanks again Dimos.

Also, take a lot of pictures during each step so you know how things go back together. Do it outside with the windows down if you can, I made the mistake of doing it in the garage and had to deal with the gas vapors. Also, if you can do it on an empty tank, you can check your tank with the pimp assembly out to make sure there is no rust or crap in the tank. Always replace the fuel pump filter/sock and the o ring tank portal seal.
