My general search on Toyota's site, does not look like it's a one part across all Toyota's. Generally it looks like the 2.5-3.5 liter are these plugs, the 2.4 from the 1980's is different, the bigger 4.7 liter have another plug and the smaller engines have another. Then engines not made by Toyota (made by Subaru or BMW) have another plug.

I am probably going with a ValvoMax on my next oil change. Advantage ValvoMax is the oil will come out in a tube (right into a container), so it will be a very clean oil change (in theory right). Of course with the Fumoto, there is no extra part to lose.

Yeah, might not be universal, but fortunately, my 4th gen 4Runner has the 4.7L V8 and with confirmation from TonyYOW, it does actually use the same size since I have a spare one somewhere in the garage!

If I can't find it, I'll likely go with the F-103 model since I haven't taken a look yet to see how much clearance there is from the drain plug to the plastic cover. I don't really think the F103SX serves any beneficial purpose since the drain bolt is directly underneath.

I finally did my first oil change at 12,000 km. That's when I finally installed the F103SX that was waiting for almost a year on a shelf. :)

Installation was easy and I'm so happy I chose F103SX because it allows you to choose any position for the valve. I torqued it to 15 ft-lbs, as per the torque chart for Fumoto valves.

I usually install Fumoto valves in my vehicles but I went with a German made Stahlbus M12x1.25 this time just to try it out. It is much lower profile and there is a secondary seal in case of interval valve leakage. You can’t go wrong with any of these, just make sure you torque to the valve’s torque spec and not the vehicle’s drain plug spec.

For the F103SX model:

How is the clearance? And how has it been working out for you? Any seeping or leaking?? I am considering to get one for my upcoming oil change.

If you are concerned about clearance, check out the German made Stahlbus valves (M12x1.25). They are significantly lower profile, almost as low as the head of the original drain plug and they have a secondary sealed cap to prevent leakage even in the event of internal valve failure.

The clearance is all good, there is lots of space for it. No leaks.
I used fumoto valve for my other 2 cars, and they never leaked. I truly love them.
Hey, to install F103SX, do we need to put on the OEM washer as well, or without since there is already a seal on the valve?? And what's the torque, is it 15 lb??

Highly appreciate any help, will be doing oil change tomorrow ;-)

Absolutely not, you don't put OEM washer. The valve has its own seal.

Thanks for all your help. I got it installed yesterday and everything went pretty straight forward. However, when I torqued it down, it actually moved the valve out of my set place, which didn't bother me much coz I would hook up a tube to the nipple to avoid any splashing when i use it. Overall, it looks good and is a good buy!! definitely like this new SX model for sure!!

Did you take any pictures that you can share?

Congrats and you're welcome!

I'm using the nipple with a pvc tube every time, I can't image draining the oil without it. The tube goes right into container, no mess. I also have a 90degree plastic adapter from Fumoto so that I can just click it on to the valve and remove it easily too.

I have seen a picture of the valve installed but I would kind of like to see it installed on our specific engine since you mentioned that when torqueing, it went a bit past where you wanted it.

This is a general picture from their site. Is this close to what I would expect?
