Hey all. I have been looking into getting a lift kit for my Rav 4 extreme 2003.

just wondering if anyone else has had any luck at sourcing one or what tricks people have used to achieve better clearance.
Also on a side thought. Has anyone used suspension pieces off different model Toyota’s or a just any different car that fit to the Rav 4 that are much more readily available??
Btw located in aus but interested to hear from anyone.

Old man Emu sells lift springs for our RAV4. Some part numbers say 1.25'' and other say 1.5''. You can also buy the cheap (but good) strut spacers on Ebay from Russia.

The OME springs I installed provided 1" in the front, 2" in the rear. That might be why some OME parts are described differently.

Side note: I put an order in for the OME shocks and KYB G2 struts about a month ago, I've gotten no word on shipping or delivery yet. Assuming the parts are backordered.

Cheers mate. Did you keep the stock struts when you installed the OME springs ??

I did.

I do think it generally improved the ride quality, it behaves like a more confident, capable, SUV now. Bump travel is uniformly improved, droop travel is under dampened. I'm hoping the OME shocks fix this.

One last thing. Do you rekon it would be beneficial to instal the strut spacers on the front to provide the lift and then the OME springs to lift the rear. As another option rather than new springs all round. Thanks in advance Tom

No I don't think it would be beneficial. I believe the asymmetric spring rates front/rear would cause the RAV to handle like an old truck. If you're concerned about my under dampened comment, the rear needs extra shock dampening. The front handles OME springs well in my opinion. Although, this is likely less a concern for owners that hang a 235/70-16 tire on the trunk door. I removed 115 lbs from the rear of my RAV so it rests an additional 0.5" higher than OME advertises, but the shock's soft valving is exacerbated. Your attachment looks like the springs I bought ?‍♂

These coils are ARB (probably rebadged OME), but OME have different part numbers.

A also bought my OME springs at Rocky Road Outfitters a few years ago... then they asked me to use my RAV4 picture on their website. Great service. :)

I am planning to buy some OME lift springs for the rear but still unsure what to get for the front. what would give me the greatest clearance?? OME springs or a Tema spacer kit??

The 40mm spacers will provide a greater lift height up front, but I wouldn’t recommend mixing spring rates front to back.

Another way to think about this is ride height: The Tema spacers up front and OME coils in the rear will level the ride height out at best, and at worst pitch the nose upwards. In either case, when the rear is loaded the RAV is going to drive funny.

The OME rear springs are a little firmer than the front for this reason: to more confidently carry a load and provide better handling while doing so.

My recommendation would be go OME all around, OR, Tema 40mm spacers. But don’t mix and match. Hell, go full OME springs AND spacers if you want maximum ride height.

Hey guy, i am about to order the tema 40mm spacers. I was just wondering is this there anything else i will need to do to the rav once the lift is installed? no extra hidden costs? just a wheel alignment im assuming??
