Does anyone have the Touch Keypad for the Rav? Do they like it? Does it install behind the glass or outside of it? It's hard to tell from pictures.. also, has anyone added after buying their Rav? Is it easy? I love the idea of having it and the convenience around it. Also it seems odd it's only offered in FL, GA, AL, SC & NC.. I guess it's a legal thing? I'm in Florida.

I was intrigued about this option as well, when I asked my dealer I was told it was a port installed option only.
Crap.. I hope not.. I found the Touch Keypad on ebay for far less money: Toyota Touch Keypad 00016-00506-DL | eBay

I may order it and see if I can manage to install it.. would need to find the installation manual for it online somewhere though since Toyota seems to be notorious for not including them with parts.

I went ahead and ordered it.. I'll update thread when it arrives.. should be able to return it if it's not home-installable. I think the issue is going to be when I need to pair it to the security/smart-key system.. Assuming a dealership is going to need to help me here.

Update, I was able to obtain the instructions on how to install; it's quite daunting and lengthy.. this is why it's normally just a Port install only. It also doesn't look like any dealership involvement is required, it wires directly to the lock system and no coding appears to be necessary. I'm assuming it also bypasses the key proximity so that you can "lock" your keys inside the vehicle after the pad is installed (which is the purpose of buying this (outside of losing your keys).

Could you please post a link to the instructions? Thanks.

Have a good day.

I find it odd that a Toyota accessory would use wire splices. My experience with them is they will eventually become intermittent.

Interesting. I do this with my Fusion while biking or at the gym. Wife asked about it. Says its for 2020 on the manual. Wonder why 2019 wasn't mentioned? Does look like a lot of busy work to get to the necessary wiring.

EDIT:

I would like to install this as well, I'll wait to see how well you get along with the install.

I have it on my 2020 XSE. I just bought the car so I haven't used it much other than to try it out since the keyless entry is faster, but it works nicely and I definitely see it being useful when this quarantine ends and I can go to places where it is more prudent to lock the keys in the car.

Do you feel it blocks view or feel something uncomfortable in the corner?
