I've personnally never heard of this brand before... but with 50mm lift this seems interesting!

The most interesting things I'm reading about these springs are their progressive rates. My ONLY complaint about the OME springs is their choppy ride: the constant spring rates transmit cracks in the road surface and gravel through the vehicle. A lower spring rate in the initial 10% of bump travel would greatly diminish the jarring effect and still provide increased vehicle control and bottoming resistance.

Hey mate what did you end up getting ? I just bought a 3 door and looking to lift too
hey mate, I didn't end up buying those springs. went to order them a week later and they were gone. cant seem to find them anywhere on eBay for some reason. however i did find some other OME 30mm lift springs and thinking of possible purchasing those. let us know what you decide to do.

cheers.

Hi there, new member here:)
After a little search and asking opinions I bought from ebay 40mm Temma lift kit for my 2003 rav, I have it over a year with new kyb excel g struts, no complaints so far.
My question..is there something better at the rear to replace it and work better than kyb excelg struts because it is lifted 40mm?

Another new member here!
From Perth - Western Australia !

2004 - RAV4 CV
17x6 Suzuki Vitara wheels with 225/70R17 Toyo OC's
30mm spacers front 25mm spacers rear (custom made locally from HDPE)
Looking at installing some trimmed FJ Cruiser springs and shocks in the rear for a bit of an extra lift.

Really want some longer / new front shocks and a way to extend the rear shocks so i can get more wheel movement off-road.
Does anyone remove their sway bar links / sway bars?

Welcome on the forum Coff33!

I love what you did to the back door. Do you have more photos?

I deleted they sway-bars a few years ago without any problem on the road. With the Old Man Emu lifted springs, the RAV4 almost acts as if it was mounted on coilovers haha!

If you have installed front 30mm strut spacers, you already got 30mm more suspension travel... because your front shock mount is now 30mm away from the shock tower! :) You can't add too much travel to your front suspension. I have 40mm spacers + 1.5'' OME lifted springs, and when my front suspension is fully extended: the front left shock touch the axle shaft.

As for the back, the rear shocks sold by OME are about 1'' longer when fully extended. The easiest and cheaper way to extend your rear shocks is to weld a second ''mount loop'' to your existing shock.... or/and to fit an extension to the upper threaded part of the shock. I did both to my rear shocks, but used 4th gen 4Runner shocks to get more stiffer shocks. A bolt-on but more expensive solution to get longer shocks at rear is to buy a set of Pro-Comp MX6 #MX6013 shocks. They are direct fit and are about 2.5'' longer fully extended.

Awesome Commando !

I might make a build thread on here maybe :)

I have been reading everyones posts here before i got started. Because I am in Australia OME (even though it was/is an Aussie company) are much harder to get.
I can easy get another brand called "King Springs" which are super common here in Australia. However I found some really interesting information on a some Russian forums called drive2.ru

Rear suspension.
1. Reinforced rear suspension springs OBK C4T-42112H 2
2. Rear shock absorbers KYB 344356 from Ford Maverick / Ford Escape / Mazda Tribute
3. Bolt for rear shock absorber Mitsubishi MS 240296 10x30 (from Pajero sport)

Front suspension.
1. Front springs RD5964 (rear from Pajero-2 short wheel base) 2 pcs. Only these springs up to letters and numbers, there are many options for these springs for Pajero2.
2. Spacer for fastening the front suspension strut support, 20mm [Polyurethane Novosibirsk 1-12-2252]. www.polyurethan.ru/
3. Stud for support of struts M10 1.25 enlarged St.20, 6 pcs [Polyurethane Novosibirsk 0-15-010]. Price 300 rubles.
4. Bolt adjusting repair Toyota 90105-15009 4 pcs. Price 720 rubles.
Note:
Point 4, a bolt is usually enough, but there are 3 more bolt options for geometry.
You can also try to replace only the upper adjusting bolts, they give a larger offset angle. Then you only need 2 bolts.

Hey Guys

Thought id add to the thread as i am just about to order a lift for me RAV4.2 and it seems there is limited options in Australia, after much search i have found what i think is the perfect option.

Tom did ever get to installing a kit if so how is it and what option did you go?

King springs will give you a lift of around an extra 1" lift. If you are going to also add strut spacers, rear spring spacers. Which I suggest you do. You can gain just under 2" total. Anything beyond that and your Axles will get destroyed when you go off road due to angle. On road you will chew up your axle boots due to rubbing.

If you take a look at page two of my build thread you'll see that you can install Ford Escape / Mazda Tribute 2002 rear shocks which gives you an extra 2" of extension. I just ordered the webco ones from eBay/superspares .

I will be getting front King springs soon to lift my 2004 to the maximum possible.

I'm at about 3,5'' lift, and I never had any problem with axles or boots. ;)

Commando do you not find issues with CV joints on axles due to angles ?? or wear on CV boots on Axles ?
Absolutely no issue. I know some people add spacers to lower the rear subframe and then reduce the axles angle a little bit. But it sounds contradictory to me to lift the vehicle to get more clearance... then lower the rear diff to remove a part of gained clearance. :p

In the back, the 1,5'' spacers + 1.5'' springs gives about 3.5'' lift. The springs were not designed to be as much compressed with the addition of a spacer.

This has nothing to do with suspension geometry and axles angle, but going from 27'' tall tires to 29,5 tires gave me about another 1,25'' ground clearance more. And another benefit with better ground clearance, it also gets better approach and departure angles. This is valuable when playing off road.

I forgot to mention something that wears with the lift: the bushings in the front lower arms (the big circular one). I had to replace them 2 times in the past 6 years.
