In theory it should be a simple plug and play as it’s just a bigger screen with fancier animations, it doesn’t display anything extra the smaller cluster can’t.

I doubt the install is that simple, factoring in the new electrical harness to power the bigger LCD, and higher amp breakers in the fuse boxes, and yeah the cost - I’d say not worth it unless you reeeeeally want it.

I tried one of those speedometer and while they look nice they are not worth the high price. I also ran into issue with the cover over the regular speedometer doesn't go over and there is always a gap. The OEM speedometer has two clips in the back that hold it back. These android speedometer don''t have one so again you will have a small gap on top or bottom. The one I got also had some issues in which it would display RCTA in green which means it was on. But will also display RCTA OFF in yellow, so you don't know if this safety feature was on or off. Depending on which display you selected the left or right turn arrow will be cut off and it would be on different location depending on the display. After contacting the seller they weren't able to fix it. With all the issues I had I would say i would have kept it if the price was 150-180 not the 700 plus they were charging.

I do like the sharp looks of the larger cluster on my 20 Limited, my 19 XLE had the standard gauges but I liked them also. There is one draw back to the fully digital LCD speedo, direct sun shining on it makes it hard as hell to see. I have to hold my hand up sometimes to see the cruise control MPH setting depending on the time of day.

well i hope it works out. Let us know because if it does work. I will probably switch also. How are you going to put the miles that your current speedometer has with the one you are getting?
You are going to have problems because when you do inspection the person puts the miles shown in your speedometer, but when it gets connected to the OBD it will show there is a difference.
I believe most newer vehicles store the mileage in the ECM, not in the gauge cluster. The odometer is just a display that shows that information. Plugging in a new gauge cluster should should the actual mileage on the vehicle when powered up. I know Harley-Davidson started doing thing on their motorcycles in 2012.
