O2 SENSOR B2S2 Bank 2 Sensor 2

Hello.... 2 days ago.... I had a fault code P0158 Bank 2 Sensor 2 ( B2S2 ) on my OBD2 causing my dash light up like a Christmas tree....lololololol... ( 4wd-track off- etc...) Does someone know the right way to Clean the O2 sensors...????

On Oct.19, 2019 I replaced the B1S2 ...by a new one.

Someone on this forum said that the B2S2 and B1S2 are identical and are interchangeable... except that one has longer wiring...

Not sure about the part number of the B2S2 ??????

2007 V6 Sport. Check engine code P0136 --> New oxygen...

Totaled my 07 Sport V6 this summer when I hit an animal. So I replaced it with... another 07 Sport V6. Lemme tell ya, the used car market REALLY likes third-gen Ravs. Point is this is a recently new-to-me car that I'm still pretty familiar with, but who knows what the previous owner did...

Just a couple of thoughts from me. Have you inspected the B2 wiring harness for any critter damage? As it is on B2 only, I would not suspect over fuelling across the engine, but do not rule out a leaky injector on B2.

Do you have an exhaust leak on B2 around the cat area - this could also throw a sensor high code.

Other than this, you are into wiring integrity and sensor checking with a DVOM/scope etc

you are 100% right because i'm hearing an exhaust leak but i do not know where it's coming from.
Yesterday...i cleared the code from my ECU and as someone here suggested ....i when for a ride and everything when right and no more P0158 code.

But...just in case....Does someone have a recipe to Clean those O2 sensors....?

I am not 100% convinced at all by cleaners for an O2, the reason being is that you would have to clean all of the crud build up inside the tiny holes of the sensor body without damaging the bulb inside. O2 sensors become lazy as they age, they react slower to the changes in A/F ratio (S1's). If it were me, and I identified a bad/lazy sensor I would replace it.

For the exhaust leak, spray some soapy water on the exhaust along its length - it may show where the problem is.

Hello... This Morning i replaced my BANK 2 SENOR 2 on my Rav4 V6 2012 and it took me about 20 mins. to do...( jacking the suv , remove the old one and install the new Denso B2S2 . and put the suv back on the ground.) i post some pics for DYI . I'm woundering if the Denso p/n: 234-4261 bought from Amazon at $68.34 Cand. Fund ...tax in. will do the same job because the inlet holes are different from the sensor i removed...? but the connector is the same....
i went for a test ride and for now...my rav is OK....no more engine codes.

As far as I am aware, the holes are there just to let the gases on to the bulb. As long as the connectors are the same, and the codes are clear, you should be sorted. Just rescan for codes after a few hundred miles to see if there is anything pending - I suspect there will not be .

Hello Everyones.... i just replaced my O2 sensor Bank 2 Sensor 1 on my 2012 , Rav4 , V6 because of the P00158 code and the code , check engine , 4wd and trac off, just came back on the Rav... today...
Also i just got the P0051 code yesterday...for B2S1 ... so i will check the heater circuit with a Ohmeter first on the sensor to know if it's open circuit ( fail ) should be around 2.5 to 2.7 ohms when good... and check also on the other side of the plug with a test light on the 2 same color wire ( that's the heater wires ) if the ECU sending voltage to the sensor...with a test light.

On my OBD2 it show PERMANENT Code... even after changing my B2S2 few days agon....so anyone know how to reset my ECU ??? maybe disconnect the Battery..??? or Else...?

Now you have both fitted, clear all the codes again and see if they come back.

Low voltage on the heater circuit could mean resistance on the wiring harness anywhere between the sensor to relay to ECM - I would suggest you do a complete visual check first.

After that, you would need to do a loaded voltage drop test to see if there is any resistance on the circuit
