I did a special order XSE back in Sept. '20 since there was no inventory available in my area. I went for the panoramic sunroof and at that time my dealer told me those are only made in Japan. So I guess order that feature if you want to assure you get a Japanese made model.
I am suspecting that tickle points like specific options may play a part in assembly source, while a much larger determinant is the "Region" the dealer is in.

I purchased from a dealer in the Northwest, sourced from Japan via the Portland, OR P.O.E. (Port Of Entry). The impression I got from the sales drone was that Japan was the default supply source for their inventory, at least, as far as the RAV4 Hybrids were concerned.

My 2021 Kentucky built Hybrid purchased on 10/20 has pano sunroof and adaptive headlights so that should be incorrect.

Sorry I was given incorrect info by my sales person. All Rav's previously made in Japan for US marketplace are now made in Kentucky.

I was trying to see if I could see the status of the car on my order. The dealer gave me two print outs, one was supposed to be my invoice, two different VIN #'s on them. First one, no clue. 2nd vin I was able to find it in a generic but in the Toyota vin finder it comes up empty. My car is due on the lot by Jul 27 by what the sales person told me on Jul 1. :(

According to the VIN it's Canadian built. Hope they put in some good work, eh? :)

Your Sales Person has direct access to Toyota's "DEALER DAILY" that provides specific location and status on any "Post Production" VIN. If the Sales Drone isn't giving you this 411, they're playing a game on you at your expense.

Maybe Toyota doesn't do "DEALER DAILY" any longer? Here's what I received from my sales drone in 2019 . . . . . .
