I did (do) have the gas tank fill volume issue. No help from the dealer or Toyota. I have made peace with the issue by standardizing my fill-up ritual. When I fill up I fill at the lowest delivery rate with automatic shut-off. I let it auto-shut-off three times and call it done. (Yeah, I know, that's a NoNo.) But it seems to work for me. Very consistently repeatable results within window of expectation. I use a Scan-Gauge so I base my expectations on that.

Not quite 15,000 on my unit purchased August '19.

The fuel tank issue is aggravating.

The abject failure of Toyota Dealership Service Department(s) proves to be a far more significant problem.

Pulling up the the fuel island under the conditions that TOYOTA declares and having to fight their dysfunctionally designed fuel system to pump THEIR DECLARED volume of fuel into their dysfunctionally designed fuel tank?

Childs play when compared to trying to achieve any degree of satisfaction from any Toyota Dealership Service Department I've ever had the displeasure of experiencing.

Submitted the following in a website form-fill to the Service Department of the Dealership of purchase . . .
Dear (insert name of Service Advisor here),

I am interested in getting the fueling issue on my 2019 RAV4 HV resolved. I have a case number with Toyota USA and subsequent letters from Corporate ('CSP 20TE04') resulting in warranty replacement of the fuel tank #04000-15142, sending unit #04000-16142, and gasket #04000-15247.

Is Lithia Toyota of Pleasantville, USA performing this work? If so, is there any (qualifying) procedure required of me, the owner, prior to bringing my vehicle in for this service? Will Toyota provide a loaner while my RAV4 is being serviced?

I am not in a rush over this, there is no shadow of a falling piano, whenever you have a moment.

Thank you!

Sincerely,
Freeman
. . . . . and got a telephone call literally minutes after clicking "SUBMIT" from one of the S.A.'s at the dealership. He stated that the moment he hung the phone up he was going to get the parts ordered for me and we clearly determined that I would await his phone call that he had the parts on hand and we would go from there. He said that it would be a week or two.

Now this particular dealership has Toyota Parts T H E _ N E X T _ D A Y from the Toyota Parts warehouse distribution facility in Portland, OR. I gave the S,A. the benefit of the doubt figuring MAYBE Toyota has a backorder condition on these parts due to their fs@kup.

That was on February 26, 2021; I'm still waiting for his phone call and I'm not holding my breath.

2019 XLE, white, love the ride, steer assist, do not like having to turn radio up to "20" to hear it good, just sounds muffled. Now have a rattle on passenger side, not all time. Time for 2nd oil change, tire rotation etc. Had it in for the fuel issue, they went over it, says mine is not one of them. However it still doesn't fill, miles to empty and gallons to fill don't make the numbers. Will take back to original Dealer to do oil change, have them find the rattles, little things that are beginning to show up. Mileage is 13,500+.
Not unhappy with it, would buy again or consider the Highlander. Love the hybrid and the mileage.

Just curious how many miles everyone has and if you've had problems during that time.
Me---New owner, 278 miles, 5 days no concerns as of yet but so far I love it. It rides like my old Highlander and has pretty good "get up and go". Averaging 33.8 MPG in mixed driving but I do drive on the HWY around 80-85 MPH.
I have had my 19 XSE for 18 months and absolutely love it. 46,000
Various rattles which you have to hunt down. Most can be fixed with rubber mats for the drink holders, cubbies etc. sometimes it just involves moving a seatbelt.
Poor interior lighting which can all be swapped out easily enough with LED kits.
19 and 20’s pretty much all need the fuel tank fix.
You can too easily turn off the traction control, too close to heated seat button, not sure if they have fixed this.
The rear trunk button is hidden behind the steering wheel.
Window buttons are not illuminated. You can easily swap out from a site like car trim home.com
Entune is a complete waste of time

Contacted my dealer, they had no idea about the tank issue. I called Toyota CS and they were able to look it up and verify that the previous owner had the fix done on 1/21 of this year, so I'm good.

Did a trip yesterday from Maryland thru W. Va, then into Pa. 45.1 mpg, not bad!

Went through some heavy fog in Md, definitely going to add fog lights onto this vehicle. Have an eye on a couple ambers, one has the amber lens, the other has a clear lens with an amber bulb.
