Oddly enough, I'm 6'10 (not a typo) and I feel like I have plenty of headroom in my LE. With the seat all the way back and as low as it goes and with the steering wheel pulled up and out as far as it will go I fit just fine. I was actually surprised.

The passenger seat on ALL '19 Rav4s has no height adjustment and is on the high side, it is manual 4-way, fore and aft, seatback reclines. There are lots of reviews that make a point of pointing this out, the low sloping roof line and high passenger seat position can be a issue for many, I'm 5'11", it's not an issue for me, but I can see someone any taller having a problem with it, my hat/head barely clears the roof when I get in the passenger seat, my 5'9" wife never noticed it being a problem.
I bought my '19 XSE Hybrid in August 2019 and never tried the front passenger seat. I'm 6'1" with shortish legs and a long torso and neck, so I sit like I'm almost 6'4" - I have plenty of headroom in driver seat, but have discovered that I damn near break my neck trying to get into front passenger seat unless I remember to enter head and torso first, which makes for an awkward entrance at best. I have to just about bury my nose in my belt buckle to get head clearance when getting out of that seat!
It wouldn't have killed the sale for me - my wife is 5'6"and has no problems being passenger most of the time, but it is an issue all should consider: MAKE SURE YOU AND YOUR MOST FREQUENT PASSENGER TRY THE PASSENGER SEAT BEFORE PURCHASING!
I agree that Toyota missed the mark here - and I bet that anyone who can come up with a retrofitted slide/fastening system that would lower the seat would make a bundle!

Any time someone climbs into my passenger seat I warn them to watch their heads. I've had people 5" 7" bang their heads getting in. I was strongly considering trading the Rav in because of it but I really enjoy driving the suv.

....can't have much sympathy for folks that complain about headroom after the purchase. That is what a test drive is for.

I've had folks complain that the stereo is lousy in car "xyz" after the fact... But, who really "test drives" the radio. I usually have it off, or very low, as I am more concerned about engine growl, interior noise, and yes, driving comfort.

But to complain that i have trouble getting in/out of the vehicle, or lack of headroom... after I buy a vehicle... sorry....

Same for passenger side... if passenger comfort is that crucial, test drive...

That said, I'm 6'3", 250 lbs, 61 yrs old , and not the most coordinated person around, and while the Rav (its the wife's car, but I do drive it a lot) is not as roomy as my pickup, I would have no issues with it being my daily driver.

I'm a bit more "cramped " on the passenger side, but I'm not groaning in agony. It is after all a compact suv... Not a Suburban.. And we do have the moonroof...

I just retired my prius and wanted a Rav4 Hybrid - I was happy to find this thread because I am SO annoyed with this headspace passenger problem! My husband, who's only 5'11", doesn't fit in the passenger seat!!! His height is in his torso and fits fine in the driver seat by putting it all the way down - but since this would've been "my car" he needs to be ok in the passenger seat! I wish toyota would fix this issue and either set the passenger seat lower, or put the manual lowering function on the passenger side. BLERGHHHH.

I looked at one today and hit my head while entering passenger side.im 5"9.i found this to be totally odd. A deal breaker. I own a crv and never had to duck upon entering.
Then why are you here? I am sure youll be much more happy with the CRV. So go get one as the Rav fails your entry test.

When some one says "deal breaker" that means the item or proposal in question is no longer valid. And all you have as part of your five posts (two are empty) are complaints or agreeing with complaints with one CRV like. Seemed like a logical deduction on my part. * shrug *

I've come to the conclusion I must be all legs after reading this thread.. At 6'4" I have my seat set as high as it goes so my legs can bend at more of a 90° angle. This keeps me from having to have the seat so far back that I'm stretching forward to reach the steering wheel that's already all the way out. With the seat at a moderate recline and at top height I still have an 1" headroom and have never bumped the ceiling in my Adventure with moon roof.

I recently purchased a 2019 RAV4 XLE with power driver seat and tailgate. I am 6'1" tall and with the driver seat all the way down and the seatback inclined a decent amount my head is normally only a 1/2 inch from the top of the head liner, but in the mornings when my back has not compressed my head presses on the headliner uncomfortably. It is really hard for me to even get into the passanger manual seat, which does not lower at all. The dealer tells me they do not make a RAV4 now without a sun roof. My wife's CHR has more headroom than this new RAV4. The older versions of the RAV4 must of had more headroom to have sold 400K units a year. Aftermarket seats are out of the question due to the airbags in the seats. I really liked this RAV4 but I do not think I can live with the lack of head room.
I am 6 2" and have an LE. I did not want the sun roof! I find the drivers side headroom ok and getting in and out ok. However the passenger seat sits a few inches higher. Headroom still ok ,but getting in and out is more difficult. Looked at the mount for the passenger side and their may be a way to lower the since it seems to rest on a block or something ( if you feel around the carpeting). Funny thing, the same situation exists with my daughters Jeep Cherokee.

Maybe see if somebody can fabricate custom mounting brackets to lower the factory seat(s)?

Though, if you hate it so much, spending $500-1000 on said brackets may not be worth the effort, and you can just eat the loss and trade it for something else?

Regardless, at this point you are going to have to accept daily dissappointment or accept a one-time financial loss.

shrug

Good luck!
