Nope, they responded within a day when the answer was "your vehicle doesn't support..." but now that I've pushed back they are very quiet. Maybe I will call the 1-800
Thanks for your reply. I tried the 800 number early on and after they escalated my problem, that person said that some features of the App just didn't work with the Prime. I am hopeful that since the iPhone app reportedly now works, that an update will be made to the Android app. Please let me know if you get any more info from them. Thanks again!

Like others I didn't need to update my app and I just successfully tested locking and unlocking my Prime. I've got to say - WTH Toyota, what mobile app UX person decided it was a good idea to embed capabilities behind the icon which opens the app to execute? Why not just put a lock/unlock button in the app? Security obscurity or was it too difficult to integrate into the app interface? Thanks...I think!

Should be real easy. this is what the non-Prime app looks like:

Well, I still can't get mine to work. I just removed the vehicle from my garage on the app, uninstalled the app, reinstalled the app, re-registered my car in my garage, and activated it successfully. My app is clearly communicating with my car (showing the battery status, the status of locked or unlocked doors, and l and I can "start" the vehicle). While I wasn't expecting the lock and unlock icons to appear in the app (although it would be nice), long-pressing the Toyota app icon does bring up the lock and unlock icons. When I press either the lock or unlock icons, it still doesn't work and displays this message, "This vehicle is not remote capable." How did you get yours to work? (My Android phone is a Samsung Galaxy S20 FE.)

Read the entire thread, this ONLY works on iPhone not Android. Call the 1-800 number and state exactly the fact the iPhone works but Android does not and ask them to fix it. And I now say iPhone not IOS because it doesn't work from my iPad.

I must have misinterpreted your post above (post #18) when you mentioned your app worked with your iPhone, whereas with your Android phone the home screen popup was there but the Lock/Unlock did not function. I was hoping it was the Android app you finally got to work for you. I will definitely contact them. Thanks for all the information!

I was able to contact customer server and get them to extend my remote connect trial due to the remote connect lock and unlock not working. I mentioned to them that they should offer a promotion to the current owners of the Prime since this has not been functional and they stated that they would do it for me due to my repeat business but they do not have any issues reported via their channel that this has not been functional. Maybe a few more calls to the 800 number is needed to get support for a retro active extension for all R4P owners.
Ah, no wonder this feature doesn't work on my XSE Premium. I tried it and it said remote connect not available for this vehicle. So lame.

If you have an XSE Prime and an iPhone, you can Lock and Unlock your car:
1.) Remove the car from the app
2.) Uninstall the app
3.) Re-Install the app
4.) Re-Enter your VIN
5.) Re-Active the app
6.) Open the App
and then, wait for it, wait for it --
Go back to the iPhone Screen and Long press on the Toyota App Icon
This should come up:

If you press Unlock, the car WILL unlock
If you press Lock, the car WILL lock
If you press Start Engine, you may get an error message -- at least I did.
But, hey, things are better!
After deleting the app did you have to re-register for it to work? I tried deleting the app and re-installing it and didn’t work. I tried the long hold and it does pop up as an option but It doesn’t seem to work.

This is great!
Here’s a few things I found out.
1) we have 2 cars setup in the app, 2019 hybrid and 2021 prime
This long hold works on whatever car is setup as DEFAULT. That’s the only way I found to specify what car you are working on
2) you MUST have paid the $80/year for an active “Remote Services” subscription or it will not work.

thanks for pointing this out, I never would have found it!
so nice of Toyota to squeeze more money out of people just to use the app. Complete crap if you ask me, I hope no one subscribes

Before you delete the app, delete the car, then the app.
This should work for an iPhone on an XSE, but not on an SE and not on an Android phone. Good Luck.

New Update for the Toyota app (apple) to versions 1.1.13 and a new wrinkle. The new version can not remote lock the doors if the sunroof is open.

The Toyota app for the IPhone/iPad was updated early June. With the sunroof open, If you long press on app icon to lock doors the app will still notify you that the vehicle was/is locked (it is NOT).

This is new right?

I've tried uninstalling and added without success. When I tried to unlock the car it says "Please refer to the remote card for more information"

So can everyone confirm that their iPhone app works flawlessly? I am still getting the "please refer to the remote card for more information" message . I have removed my car and uninstalled/installed the app 3 times. Any other tips?
