I started importing cars about 4 years ago, my intention was to import a Delta 4x4 Rav4 as soon as I got up to speed.
After importing 25 cars from Japan I set my sights on Germany. It was no easy task. First I had to convince the seller that I was not a scammer. Then he would not assist in any way to get it to the port. So I hired couriers to trailer it the 500 miles to Bremerhaven. I then hired some folks at the port of Bremerhaven to prepare it for shipping. I picked it up yesterday in Baltimore. It needs some work, two of the flares are cracked, I plan on duplicating them and selling them. The bull bar is so much larger and substantial in person. I never realized the diameter of this thing in the various photos I have seen the last 25 years. More photos to come, lot's to go through to get it road ready.

Just found out it has a TTE Toyota Team Europe exhaust on it, was not expecting that.

What's a "Delta"?...
Looks like an older Rav4 to me...
Delta is a company specializing in off-road tuning. You got search engines over there lol?
This was posted in the RAV4.1 (first generation 94-00) General thread, so not sure why you're confused why we're getting excited about these well-aging beauties.

It's not that I'm confused... but we just got our Rav4 two months ago and before that I wasn't familiar with them, much less the first generation.
thanks.

No need to be a smart a$$, I was going to ask the same question. Not everyone is an off-road enthusiast. Also, many of us have no reason to even look at the 4.1 section due to lack of interest.
Enjoy your Delta, you went to a great deal of trouble and expense to acquire it.

Delta is a company that is still in business today, I spoke to the owner yesterday. I was inquiring about acquiring their molds since they expressed to me that they will no longer make parts for this gen Rav4 and haven't been for the last 15 years. Some of the parts are rebranded and some were built in house. All of their parts are top notch.

They destroyed the molds......

I am guessing that there were 400 made total just from my experience over the last 25 years of watching them dwindle away. These were sold as new with this equipment on them from the dealers in Germany.

It has 10" wide Alcoa wheels, modified inner fenders, a very nice dual exhaust, side steps and front bull bar with rear tubular bumper. I will post a video shortly.

I plan to have the good flares that I do have 3d scanned and then flipped in software so I can have molds made. I live on the east coast of NC where all the boat builders are. There are many boutique builders here as well. In any case some of the brightest minds for making things out of fiberglass are here.

As a last resort, I will have them scanned locally and see if a company in Vietnam can make them from my scans. There is a company that prints body parts for a reasonable price.

Since the 2drs have a different rear flare and since they are not as abundant as the 4drs in the US costs may have to reflect that as far as a price. After all these are pushing 20-28 years old depending where you are in the world. They were sold in 1994 in other parts of the world. Funny thing is elsewhere in the world the 2drs are more popular.

Sorry! Just being cheeky. I always fully answer questions first, not saying anything to antagonize. I'm also very new to the community. But interest brought them here, and even on the front page it says this thread is from this forum. They eye-roll reacted to a post about an old model in the forum dedicated to the discussion of said old model. The least I could be in response was informative about the structure of the site.

Toyota Team Europe on the exhaust tips
Great pics so far, dude! And I caught your walkaround video on YouTube by happenstance too!
Since all the kit was "factory" I'm hoping you just might find and share serial numbers or part numbers on the TTE accessories?
There has to be a handful floating around somewhere! Ok, maybe less than a handful. But never say never.

And if you could do me a huge solid, could you plug your full frame number into I want to know which frame version you have. It's hard to tell by the diagrams alone what's right.
I'm dying to get my hands on one of those dashboards with the cupholder and tray!
Can finally have TWO front cupholders. WOW :ROFLMAO:
Do you know if the spoiler is TTE or a stock option?

Also, I wonder why they still used the TTE branding for the '96 Delta 4x4 RAV4 and EURO market catalogs?
They had already been bought outright by Toyota in '93 and folded/rebranded into Toyota Motorsport GmbH (TMG)

From what I was reading TTE stayed around for some time after the TRD changeover in the rest of the world.
They were still killing it on the rally circuit with the St185 Celica and Carlos Sainz as their driver. Europe has always been head over heels for their F1 indy and Rally car drivers and brands. I think they just kept the livery alive as to not jinx anything.

The Rav4 was first sold in 1994 however it was in development since 1989 so they most likely had parts on shelves though probably just a handful. Once the TRD catalog came out in the US for the Rav4 with the supercharger and exhaust and springs that was probably the official end date that just took time to migrate overseas.

I will post up a photo of the German title, it is a SXA10G.

I have an even better one on the way from Japan, shipping on November 22nd expected to arrive December 22nd.

I must say, it really looks the part. Totally makes up for the kinda ho hum jelly bean styling of the 4.1. I generally think the factory flares are a must but the Delta ones are next level.

I found a few videos of a green 4.1 with similar or same flares somewhere in eastern Europe or Russia and fell in love.

Willing to share the specs on the wheels? Looking at the photos it seems like they're a different offset than stock which makes me wonder if there have been any changes to the front end geometry. How is the clearance from the inside of the tire to the strut?

I'm also highly curious about the "modified inner fenders". Front, rear, or both?

When I got this Rav4 I immediately noticed something strange.

The wheels were originally made by Alcoa for Mickey Thompson

Previously, I purchased some Delta wheels from Germany about 3 years ago, the ones I had before were 16x10" and stamped Delta 4X4 on the wheel face.

The ones that came on this Delta 4x4 are 15x10 and stamped MT (Mickey Thompson)

I should have never sold those other wheels, they are quite hard to find and super $$$

The Rav's and their unusually large brake rotors usually mean that 16" wheels are the smallest you can fit on them.

The inner fender has a little tab that sicks out on both sides that cut into the tire on full lock, this tab was removed on this Rav and a larger liner is also installed.

Here are pictures of the wheels I had before from Germany and I'll post some photos of the Delta Rav4.

I was thinking of making vacuum formed copies of the flares reinforced with kevlar, this may be the most cost effective way to get them made for others that want them. Or I could just have them without the kevlar. Delta had them made by injection molding originally. Going this method would have the costs around $250-$400. I was chatting with the owner of Delta 4x4 Josef Loder, he said everything was scrapped for the Rav4.

Hey Huge2na,

Any progress making the gaurd flares? Did you end up scanning them or making moulds?

Thanks, Benn.
