DIY delete bumper/skid plate/recovery points

Well, based on rnofit delete bumper idea, I've created my own and I added some "usable" recovery points. I pulled a 5k pound 4 runner and I was pulled. We did some slingshot (hard pulls) nothing broke. Im confident these recovery points will get me out of troubles when stucked.

I think this is the wrong community to share DYI projects, that's all. Rav4 was a really bad choice for me, since I had to do lots of mods to suit the car for my use. I most likely get a 4 runner next year.

This is mostly a commuter car. There are some out there that mod/lift/offroad though. This isn't a die hard modification chassis.

great work! Been kinda thinking 4runner or tacoma myself. Rav4 minor offroading, great mpg, 4runner great offroading lousy mpg decisions decisions

I made my move to a tacoma double cab 4x4 much better for my needs, the rav4 trd i had even with mods would never have competed, since eibachs and tires were the only mods Id done , the dealer gave me more than I paid on trade in

I like it when someone post mods like this, I was wanting to do something similar, I can cut and weld one up a hell of a lot cheaper than the one's online. I work in ag and need a vehicle that gets good mpg but can do minor off road, and rav4's don't have accessible tow points out of the factory. Thanks for the idea.

Agreed. I love this bumper setup, looks badass and it's useful too. Wish I was a welder so I could make one!
